Pop sensations Miley and Noah Cyrus' mother, Tish, have found love again. Formerly married to country singer Billy Ray Cyrus, Cyrus took to Instagram on Saturday to announce her engagement to British-Australian actor Dominic Purcell.
The films “Prison Break,” “Equilibrium,” and “Assault on Wall Street” made Purcell a household name. Cyrus illustrated the message with two images of the engaged couple. The first is a closeup of Cyrus' square-cut engagement ring, while the second is a loving embrace between Cyrus and Purcell.
‘A thousand times…. YES,' Cyrus wrote.
Purcell posted an Instagram snapshot of the pair a few days before the engagement news and gave a touching shout-out to Cyrus.
With the caption, “Punching way above my weight – yep absolutely, I'm a lucky bastard,” Purcell proclaimed his success. She is the best person in the world. I adore you.
When they do tie the knot, it will be Cyrus' third marriage. From 1986 to 1989, Cyrus was married to Baxter Neal Helson. Four years later, Cyrus married Billy Ray Cyrus in 1993.
Brandi (35), Trace (34), Miley (30), Braison (28), and Noah (23), are Cyrus and Billy Ray's five children. Brandi and Trace, Cyrus's biological children from her marriage to Helson, were adopted by Billy Ray.
A divorce petition filed by Cyrus against Billy Ray in April 2022 cites “irreconcilable differences,” as reported by USA TODAY. The couple had allegedly not lived together for almost two years, according to the divorce case.
Both Billy Ray and Cyrus have already attempted to divorce each other before their breakup in 2013. The pair announced in a statement to USA TODAY that “after 30 years, five amazing children, and a lifetime of memories, we have decided to go our separate ways — not with sadness, but with love in our hearts.”
After saying, “We have grown up together, raised a family we can be so proud of, and it is now time to create our own paths,” the couple said that it was time to pursue their individual goals.
We are a family forever, and we look forward to becoming closer as friends and parents together. With everything going on in the world, we wanted to offer some clarity and finality in order to keep our attention where it needs to be: on the things that truly matter. This decision was not made quickly or easily.
