A Flash Back to previous Parts
The first film, Fast & Furious, was released in 2001, and it kicked off the original tetralogy of films about illegal street racing (2009). Universal extended the franchise with the 2019 spin-off film Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, followed by the animated streaming television series Fast & Furious Spy Racers from its subsidiary DreamWorks Animation. All of the films have soundtrack CDs, as well as compilation albums featuring existing music heard in the movies. Two short films have also been released as part of the series.

A tenth film is in the works, with Lin returning to helm and Chris Morgan writing. It was set to be released on April 2, 2021, however, that date was taken by F9, leading the film to be postponed until a later date and owing to ongoing difficulties with the COVID-19 pandemic. It was also supposed to be out in February 2023, but it was postponed until April 7, 2023. Lin is slated to return to helm a direct sequel and the second half of the tenth (and last) film.

That brings the Fast & Furious franchise back to its Easter weekend roots, where F7, the franchise's highest-grossing film, debuted in 2015 to $147.1 million domestically and finished with $353 million domestically and $1.5 billion globally. Uni's F9, which was released during a theatre window, grossed $681.5 million worldwide during the epidemic.
