After boarding the trains, they resolve to spend Christmas together. James meets Hayley at the station. Hayley sprints to James's.
She loses her phone while traveling to Kemble, James' birthplace. The station master guides her to James Hughes's little townhouse when she can't reach anyone. After a brief conversation, an elderly man with a rifle leads her to James's residence. A magnificent mansion buried in the snow surprises Hayley. After investigating the estate, Hayley finds James' true identity. His father Earl Humphrey Hughes was royal. James arrives in Macclesfield and heads to Hayley's.
He later finds that Hayley's younger brothers live in the same place. James's. They decide to spend Christmas with distant relatives they don't know or take the train home the next day. James also travels to Kemble via train.
The weather has canceled trains, so they'll spend the next 2 days with their partners' families. 4 years after James' mother died, their house has remained silent. His mother was the most ardent celebrant & their house sparkled during the holidays. His life deteriorated after his mother's death. James & Humphrey stopped talking after a point. Hayley is upset & investigates the restricted section, where she finds Christmas decorations & decorates the dining room with a tree & other decorations.
She leaves James's house without her inhaler since she feels awful about overstaying. Humphrey & Iris are reminded of Christmas joy by their similarities in personality & perspective. Humphrey apologizes in Hayley's room & finds her gone & the inhaler on the table. He takes Peanut into the snow to find Hayley & gives her the inhaler. Steve's Christmas Eve visit to Hayley's house surprises James again. He discovers Steve is Hayley's engagement through her relatives and a family photo.
