Yellowjackets Season 2-Yellowjackets swooped down like a jet onto a Canadian slope, crashing into our life. Sure, with all of the '90s acting aristocracy in the cast, there was some buzz, but no one could have guessed how popular the programme would be.
Yellowjackets have grabbed hold of our very souls, much like that weird monster creature in the woods, and we're simply thankful to serve. We'd do almost anything to see more Yellowjackets episodes in season two, short of chopping necks and devouring people.
Thankfully, all of our pagan sacrifices appear to have paid off, because Yellowjackets has already been renewed halfway through season one by Showtime. It appears that Lottie isn't the only one who can look into the future…

Anyway, did you finish the first season's conclusion yet? If you haven't, what are you doing here in the name of everything unholy? Bookmark this page, binge-watch the last episode like it's one of your best friends, and then check back to see what Yellowjackets season two has in store.
When Will the Second Season of Yellowjackets Premiere?
Yellowjackets Season 2-Because of the early season two renewal, we may not have to wait long for Yellowjackets to return to our screens.
Gary Levine, Showtime's President of Entertainment, told Deadline in mid-December:
“We haven't heard the idea for season two yet, and the writers' room hasn't even formed yet; they'll do so in January. I'm sure Ashley, Bart, and Jonathan had some rudimentary ideas, but they hadn't developed them out or communicated them to us.”
Since then, Levine has informed Vulture that season two would most likely premiere around the same time as season one, as part of a regular yearly cycle:
“We're planning a premiere for the end of 2022… I believe our viewers deserve it, and I also believe that a project with this much momentum should not be allowed to fizzle out.”
According to this timetable, Yellowjackets season two should come by December 2022 at the latest, while January/February 2023 might also be a possibility if production delays occur.
Who Will Appear in the Second Season of Yellowjackets?
Has there ever been a show with such a stellar cast as Yellowjackets? Not only do we have true legends like Melanie Lynskey, Juliette Lewis, Christina Ricci, and Tawny Cypress in our midst, but the adolescent versions of these characters are also spot-on, eerily similar to their adult counterparts.
Following that season's end, it appears that even the kids who died may return as ghosts in season two. Jackie, played by Ella Purnell, is one of them. They may, at the absolute least, reappearance in more flashbacks. On this show, that's a common occurrence. As a result, you can't count out anyone from the first season's cast returning.
Co-showrunner Ashley Lyle elaborated on this potential in an interview with Deadline:
“It's hilarious to see how viewers and fans respond to the programme, and the tenacity with which they will stick to what they want to happen, as well as their cynicism. In case there's any confusion, Jackie is dead at that moment. You haven't ruled out the chance of running across Ella in the future.”
But what about Lottie as an adult? We learn at the end of season one that the clairvoyant Antler Queen is still alive and well today. Fans who were hoping to see a new cast member join in the last seconds of the episode may have been disappointed, but this suggests that Courtney Eaton's role will be played by someone fresh as an adult.
What will happen in the second season of Yellowjackets?
Yellowjackets Season 2-Is Taissa a bad person? Will Jackie make a comeback? Natalie was kidnapped, but who did it? And what precisely did Lottie accomplish in the end? The season one ending of Yellowjackets generated a lot of new issues, so season two will have to go right to work when it returns. Mind you, keep an eye out for those traps in the woods.

Thankfully, the writers aren't blind like those lost children in the woods. Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson, the show's co-creators (and married couple), have known where Yellowjackets is going since the beginning.
In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter's TV's Top 5 podcast, Nickerson revealed, “We presented it as a five-season plan.” So don't hold your breath for all of the answers in season two.
In the same interview, Lyle teased more about what this may involve, saying:
“The novel Lord of the Flies is about how socialisation crumbles and society is a ruse. ‘Who is more socialised than women,' we reasoned. You learn how to make others like you and what the social hierarchies are as a female. It's a more engaging method of letting things drift away. The mask has thickened considerably further. It's a more complex mix of preconceived beliefs about how to act and behave.”
However, Lyle stated in a separate interview with Collider that these intentions might easily alter in the coming years:
“We did offer a five-year strategy, but even the best-laid ideas don't always work out. There's always the possibility that the programme may be cancelled. The tale will tell us how long it wants to be in our perfect world. We want to be able to keep telling it as long as we and our authors are truly thrilled about it and feel that there are simply depths to be explored.

“One of the most bizarre aspects about television writing, as Bart pointed out, is that things seem to expand and constrict. I understand that it's common for a writers' room to sit together and break down the first ten episodes, and then employ the entire plot by Episode 4. I believe that attempting to forecast how many seasons this would run would be a bit heuristic. In general, it's an instinctive thing, but you can tell when the tale is nearing its conclusion when you're hitting the appropriate spots at the right moment.

“[We] have every intention of doing this for several seasons. But what if it's three or four? Sure. Is it possible that it's six or seven? What are the chances? I mean, I'm not sure we're going for seven seasons and a movie here. The crucial thing is that it unfolds in the most natural manner possible while still conveying a dynamic and engaging tale.”
