Judges at home, get your paddles ready! (It's true!) The 29th season of ABC's Dancing With the Stars has begun! The reality competition show returns with a brand-new cast of celebrities, including a previous Bachelorette star, who are matched with professional dancers to go to the dance floor and perform in front of a live studio audience. The American dancing competition television series Dancing with the Stars started on ABC on June 1, 2005. It is the American counterpart of the British show Strictly Come Dancing, and one of several Dancing with the Stars franchise variations.

A Gist about The Show

Celebrities are paired with professional dancers in this program. Each couple competes against the other for judges' points and audience votes by performing preset dances. Each week, the couple with the lowest total of judges' points and audience votes is removed, until only the champion dance duo remains.
Tom Bergeron hosted the show from the beginning till 2019. Lisa Canning co-hosted the first season, Samantha Harris from seasons two to nine, Brooke Burke-Charvet from seasons ten to seventeen, and Erin Andrews from seasons eighteen to twenty-eight. Tyra Banks took over as host for the twenty-ninth season, replacing Bergeron.

What's There in the Dancing With the Stars Season 29

The couples were not disclosed in advance this season, as they were previous season, and were revealed on the season premiere. Season 11's Bachelorette, Kaitlyn Bristowe, was confirmed as the first celebrity participant during The Bachelor: Greatest Seasons – Ever! On August 24, 2020, it was announced that Backstreet Boys member AJ McLean would be a celebrity participant; On August 27, McLean was formally unveiled. Anne Heche, Jesse Metcalfe, and Vernon Davis were announced as celebrity participants in the season on August 29, 2020. On September 2, the other celebrity participants were unveiled on Good Morning America.

What about the Host and the Judges?

Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews confirmed on July 13, 2020 that they will not be returning as hosts.  The next day, it was revealed that Tyra Banks had been appointed as the new host and executive producer.  This is also the first season in which there is only one host instead of two. Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli, the season's judges, are back.

Derek Hough, who appeared as a professional partner in 17 of the show's 29 seasons between seasons five and 23, was announced on September 8, 2020, that he will be returning to the show to stand in for Len Goodman, who was unable to travel owing to COVID-19 pandemic travel restrictions. Goodman continued to appear in pre-recorded video segments.

Who is Kaitlyn Bristowe?

She is a Canadian television personality, podcast presenter, and former spin class instructor who rose to fame after appearing as a contestant on ABC's The Bachelor and as the lead on The Bachelorette's eleventh season. She and her partner Artem Chigvintsev competed in season 29 of Dancing with the Stars, and she won on November 23, 2020.

From November 17 through December 30, 2017, Bristowe hosted the play Home For the Holidays, Live on Broadway at the August Wilson Theatre. On May 29, 2017, she launched her podcast, Off the Vine with Kaitlyn Bristowe. Bristowe co-founded Dew Edit, a hair accessories firm, with her longtime manager Clio de la Llave in 2018, and Spade and Sparrows, a wine label, in 2019. Bristowe released her debut single “If I'm Being Honest” on May 14, 2020.

Who is Artem Chigvintsev

He is a professional dancer who specialises in Latin dance and is Russian-American. Chigvintsev has joined the Burn the Floor cast. He has played on Broadway and in the West End, most recently in 2009. In his debut year on Strictly Come Dancing, Chigvintsev came straight from Burn the Floor in London, winning the show with his celebrity partner Kara Tointon.
