Who Will Not Be a Part of Mighty Ducks Game Changers 2?

Season 2 of The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers is now available on Netflix. Another edition of the reboot/revival series starring Lauren Graham and Emilio Estevez has been commissioned by Disney Plus. Steve Brill, the show's creator, has huge plans for season 2, including the return of Joshua Jackson as Charlie Conway.

The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers is a streaming American sports comedy-drama television series based on Steve Brill's 1992 film of the same name. The series was created by Brill, Josh Goldsmith, and Cathy Yuspa for Disney+ and is produced by ABC Signature and Brillstein Entertainment, with Brill acting as head writer and Goldsmith and Yuspa serving as showrunners.

What Does Report Suggest About Mighty Ducks Game Changers?

According to a Deadline article published Friday, the studio chose not to bring Estevez back for season 2 following weeks of talks between Disney Television Studios' ABC Signature (which produces the series) and Estevez's team over the show's COVID vaccine need. The studio moved on when the actor — who also worked as executive producer on the programme — refused to clarify whether he would comply with the vaccination obligation.

While the first season was largely shot during the epidemic, Season 2 has a new vaccine requirement. As stipulated in the most recent Return-to-Work agreement between Hollywood studios and unions, everyone identified as Zone A — a.k.a. the cast and any worker that comes into close touch with them — is supposed to get vaccinated.

Gordon Bombay will no longer be writing the scripts for season 2 of The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers. What this implies for the Don't Bothers hockey team, where he was one of two coaches with Lauren Graham's Alex Morrow, remains to be seen.

The most significant plot alteration, though, will be the loss of the dynamic between the two coaches, which was hinted at in the season 1 conclusion as a potential romantic future for the two characters. Will Joshua Jackson finally make his long-awaited return to the organisation as Charlie Conway now that there's a vacant coaching position? After all, ducks flock together as they fly.
