After longtime CEO Susan Wojcicki resigned on Thursday, YouTube has named Neal Mohan as its new chief executive officer. YouTube's parent firm, Google, got its start in Wojcicki's garage.
Her resignation coincides with growing anticipation and trepidation about the potential impact of artificial intelligence chatbots like ChatGPT on the future of online information discovery throughout the globe.

Who Is The New CEO Of Youtube Neal Mohan?
Neal Mohan, a graduate of Stanford, has been with Google since 2008, and in that time he has become the chief product officer for YouTube, where he is responsible for things like YouTube Shorts and YouTube Music.
He has experience working with Microsoft and currently serves on the boards of directors for both the personal styling service Stitch Fix and the genomics and biotechnology firm 23andMe. Moreover, he is involved with the influential US think the organization, the Council on Foreign Relations.
Mohan attended Stanford University for four years to earn a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering before transferring to the Graduate School of Management to earn an MBA in the early 2000s.
He worked at DoubleClick, an internet advertising firm, for a long time. After being acquired by Google in 2007, he quickly rose through the ranks to become the vice president in charge of Google's Display and Video Advertising.

Neal Mohan's Role at Youtube
After becoming YouTube's chief product officer in 2015, Mohan has reportedly helped establish and manage the company's other major offerings. In an interview with Fast Company from last year, he said, “The greatest analogy that comes to mind for me is actually simply thinking about YouTube as a stage.”
Audiences should have “uninterrupted access to the most talented artists in the world.” Business Insider reported in 2013 that Twitter had offered him the role of Chief Product Officer, but that Google had paid him about $100 million to stay. In addition, his previous manager praised him for being “unique,” describing him as “an ‘insatiable techie' who yet had enough commercial sense” to communicate with clients on a strategic level.
