Years ago, when Cherelle's wife was still being held prisoner, she sat down with Gayle King for an interview on CBS. In her first interview since Griner's sentencing in August, Cherelle told King, “I'm like, in no world did I ever think, you know, our president and a foreign nation's president would be sitting together having to discuss the freedom of my wife.”

Since everyone has been giving me a different explanation of who or what BG is, I've come to the conclusion that she's a hostage. After their arrest in February 2022, Cherelle detailed her second phone conversation with Brittney.
