Where Is Rick Singer Now After College Admissions Scandal?

Several famous people and their progeny were implicated in the college admissions scandal that broke out in March 2019. The incident was given the official name Operation Varsity Blues.

Many parents attempted to assist their children to get into college by cheating, and the scandal was organized by CEO William “Rick” Singer through payments to The Key Global Foundation or The Edge College & Career Network.

Parents enlisted Singer's help in perpetrating fraud by paying bribes to their children's teachers to artificially raise their children's test scores; using fake donations to fake charities to get their children recruited as athletes & paying off administrators & coaches to get their children accepted.

Since well-off children were given priority for enrollment over deserving ones, the public's attention quickly focused on the operation after it became public knowledge. While Lori Loughlin, Mossimo Giannulli, and Felicity Huffman have received the most media attention.

Rick Singer is the brains behind the scheme and has not yet been held accountable for his actions. Where is Rick Singer now? Continue reading for the latest on the case.

Because of his cooperation with the FBI's investigation, several of the parents, coaches, and administrators were taken into custody. Singer's legal team submitted a request in July 2020 asking for permission for him to move from California to Arizona.

Singer was a graduate student in Phoenix, Arizona, at Grand Canyon University, working on a Ph.D. in psychology. The court granted their motion. Singer reportedly dropped out of college sometime in mid-July, as reported by AZ Central.

His exact whereabouts are unknown, and he sold his home in Newport Beach, Calif. for $2.5 million in the spring of 2019.

Does Rick Singer Plead Guilty in the College Admissions Scandal?

Yes. On four felony offenses, including money laundering conspiracy, racketeering conspiracy, conspiracy to defraud the United States, and obstruction of justice, he pleaded guilty in March 2019. If he hadn't volunteered to help the FBI catch some of the parents who fell for his scheme, he probably would have faced far more serious penalties.
