Where is Indrani Mukerjea now?
Indrani Mukerjea is currently on home arrest while awaiting her trial. According to the Indian Express, Mukerjea exited Byculla Women's Prison in May 2022 after serving little over six years.
The Supreme Court granted her bail, which includes “surrendering her passport before a special court, not leaving India without court permission, not contacting any witnesses in the case, or tampering with the evidence.”
She was also told to attend her trial, which has yet to be scheduled at the time of writing.
Mukerjea told the journalists, standing behind her attorney, “Even though it might take time, there is justice.” She went on to explain, “This has restored my faith in the judiciary [system] and I know that at the end of the day, it is a fair system.”
Mukerjea is under house arrest in Worli, Mumbai, where she lives with her third husband, Peter Mukerjea. In the documentary, Mukerjea denies any involvement, asking, “Why do I need to commit a murder?” Indrani Mukerjea. “It's so ridiculous. Sheena is alive.”
Indrani authored her book this year and now has 1.4 million Instagram followers. She shares photos of her dance movements and her time in the Andaman Islands, among other things.

As of March 3, 2024, the former CEO of INX Media is still living. Mukerjea, who is accused of killing her daughter Sheena Bora in 2012, was arrested in August 2015.
She spent nearly seven years in jail before being freed on bail in May 2022. Along with Mukerjea, other suspects have been released on bond, including Rai, Khanna, and Peter Mukerjea. According to accounts, the gruesome murder investigation is nearing completion.
