Hearties! We're returning to Hope Valley. Season 9 of Hallmark Channel's most popular series, When Calls the Heart, is now complete.

When Calls the Heart is a television series that chronicles the lives of people in the little village of Hope Valley, particularly Elizabeth Thornton (Erin Krakow), a teacher in the community.
Elizabeth had fallen in love with and married a Mountie (Daniel Lissing) throughout the first eight seasons of the programme, but she soon became a widow following his tragic death. She gives birth to their son, whom she names Jack in honour of her late husband.
Elizabeth adjusts to life as a single mom in the years after her husband's death and is courted by two new suitors: businessman Lucas Bouchard (Chris McNally) and fellow Mountie, Nathan Grant (Kevin McGarry). Elizabeth eventually chose between the two men in the season 8 finale, a decision that continues to split people.
The show's enthusiastic admirers, known as Hearties, support it at every opportunity. When new episodes premiere, the programme frequently trend on Twitter, and there's even a fan gathering called the Hearties Family Reunion, which takes place in Vancouver each summer when the show is in production. Conventions were cancelled in 2020 and 2021 due to an increase in coronavirus infections and travel restrictions in Canada, but we're certain that fans will be eager to assemble again when conditions are safe.

Kevin McGarry (Kevin McGarry) (Nathan Grant)
Nathan Grant, a Mountie in Hope Valley, is in charge of his niece, Allie (Jaeda Lily Miller), a precocious adolescent ready to cause mischief. Will he remain around now that Elizabeth has decided to join #TeamLucas in the season 8 finale?
McNally, Chris (Lucas Bouchard)
The saloon owner is a global traveller, yet he appears to be hiding some mysteries from his background. In the season 8 finale, the businessman's romantic gestures and candlelight meal captured Elizabeth's heart. McNally is most known for his roles in Altered Carbon and A Winter Princess.
Wagner, Jack (Bill Avery)
Avery, a former law enforcement officer and forensic investigator, is now a judge in the hamlet of Hope Valley. Avery didn't always seem to be on the right side of the law at first, but he's since made amends. Wagner has been in series such as Melrose Place and General Hospital and is easily recognisable.
Wong, Amanda (Mei Suo)
With the advent of Amanda Wong, Nathan may have a new love interest.
Is Lori Loughlin making a comeback on When Calls the Heart?
Oh, how we wish it were so! Lori Loughlin has yet to confirm if she would return to When Calls the Heart. Fans have been sifting through Erin Krakow's Instagram postings for hints.

Is anyone from the cast of When Calls the Heart leaving?
Dr Carson (Paul Greene) moved to John Hopkins for a fellowship, Henry Gowen (Martin Cummins) moved out of town to spend more time with his son, and Nathan Grant (Kevin McGarry) felt the pain of rejection after Elizabeth picked Lucas over him at the close of last season. Will these three gentlemen ever return to Hope Valley?
McGarry has been quiet and off social media since the season finale, but he's a fan favourite, so expect him to return—and maybe find love in Hope Valley with someone else!
It was uncertain if Dr Carson would return from his fellowship in Baltimore and when he would do so. He'll most likely return in the middle of the season or at the conclusion. Will he arrive on horseback, like Faith did when she returned from Chicago?

In the case of Henry, this Hearty is still rooting for #Henrigail, and based on Cummins' recent Instagram post, Hearties will be glad to learn that Henry will return to Hope Valley.

When the Heart Calls, where is it shot?
The filming of When the Heart Sings takes place just outside of Vancouver, British Columbia. The Jamestown Movie Set (constructed on the family-owned MacInnes Farm), where the majority of the programme is filmed, is home to Hope Valley.

Fun fact: The sets with two stories (row house, saloon guest rooms, etc.) don't have enough space to film upstairs, thus such places are made elsewhere.
What is the spinoff series of When Calls the Heart?
When Hope Calls, the popular series' original spinoff, is available to view on Hallmark Movies Now. Lillian (Morgan Kohan) and Grace (Jocelyn Hudon), two sisters who were separated as youngsters when their parents died, star in the new series. Grace was adopted shortly after they were orphaned, but Lillian stayed in foster care until she was 18. As adults, the two reconcile and establish their orphanages. GAC Family just renewed the spinoff series for a second season.
