The Walking Dead is an American post-apocalyptic horror television series based on Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard's comic book series of the same name, which together form the basis of The Walking Dead brand. The series stars a big ensemble cast as survivors of a zombie apocalypse who are struggling to stay alive while being attacked by zombies known as “walkers” on a near-constant basis (among other nicknames). With the fall of modern civilization, however, these survivors are forced to interact with other human survivors who have formed organisations and communities with their own set of laws and morality, which might lead to open, aggressive war.

The Walking Dead, an American post-apocalyptic horror television series on AMC, debuted its eleventh and last season on August 22, 2021, with 24 episodes. The series is based on the eponymous series of comic books by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard, and was created for television by Frank Darabont. Kirkman, David Alpert, Scott M. Gimple, Angela Kang, Greg Nicotero, Joseph Incaprera, Denise Huth, and Gale Anne Hurd are the executive producers, with Kang serving as showrunner for the third and final season. Critics have given the eleventh season mixed to good reviews thus far.
The Commonwealth, a massive network of communities with modern equipment and about fifty thousand survivors living in their various settlements, is the centre of this season, which adapts material from issues #175–193 of the comic book series. The season also centres on the group's encounter with the Reapers, a mystery organisation of hostile survivors who invaded and took Meridian, Maggie's (Lauren Cohan) and her new people, the Wardens' former home.

In other parts of the Commonwealth, auditors question Eugene, Ezekiel, Yumiko, and Princess. They manage to flee the outpost, but Yumiko discovers that her brother may be present, so they decide to stay. Maggie's gang enters a subway station underground, but they are ambushed by walkers.

Maggie manages to flee the walkers and rejoins the main group inside the subway car, describing how Negan turned her down for assistance. Maggie's company is ambushed in the woods by the Reapers, who kill Cole and Duncan and scatter the group. Maggie is still being pursued by the Reapers the next day, but she eventually joins up with Negan and Alden, the latter of whom swears he is too injured to continue and wants to be left behind.
Episode 4
Daryl becomes separated from Dog after being stalked by one of the Reapers. Soon later, he discovers Dog relaxing next to a disguised female Reaper, who turns out to be Daryl's old romantic partner, Leah. The group then imprisons Daryl and tortures him for information at Meridian.
Episode 5
Carol, Aaron, Jerry, and Lydia search the remnants of the Hilltop Colony for supplies and come across a small group of living Whisperers. Aaron tortures the leader, who insists they're no longer a threat, but Carol intervenes to prevent Aaron from doing something he might regret. The Whisperer informs the gang about Connie's whereabouts in exchange for his life being spared; they decide to leave the next morning to hunt for her.
Episode 6
Connie and Virgil have been surviving together and are pursued into a home inhabited by a bunch of deranged people who have taken to cannibalism. The sisters are finally reunited after defeating most of the cannibals and being rescued by a party consisting of Kelly, Magna, Carol, and Rosita.
Episode 7
Eugene, Ezekiel, Princess, and Stephanie are sentenced to community work cleaning walkers from buildings at the Commonwealth. Eugene and Stephanie defend Sebastian Milton, Governor Pamela Milton's son, from walkers, but when Sebastian is ungrateful, Eugene hits him and ends himself in jail. If Eugene gives away Alexandria's location, Lance promises him independence and assistance for his town.
Wrapping Up
Due to the COVID-19 epidemic, it was stated in March 2020 that pre-production had been halted and that filming would be delayed three to four weeks. The last season began filming in February 2021. Beginning with the six extra episodes from season 10, the series transitioned from 16 mm film to digital. The COVID-19 pandemic drove the transition, as well as safety concerns due to the fact that digital has fewer “contact points” than film. Angela Kang, the showrunner, claimed that they would use post-production techniques to keep the series' appearance.
