Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy are the creators of the dystopian science fiction neo-Western television series Westworld.
It is based on the 1973 Michael Crichton film of the same name, which he wrote and directed, and to a lesser extent, the 1976 sequel Futureworld.
The narrative is set in Westworld, a made-up amusement park with a Wild West theme that uses cutting-edge technology and is populated by artificial “hosts.”
Westworld Season 5 Potential Release Date: When Will It Air?
According to digitalspy, Despite Lisa Joy's ambitions, HBO has not provided any information regarding a fifth season as of August 2022. Additionally, this is a show that has consistently received a swift renewal.
However, don't turn off the power just yet; there's still time.
Not only did the season four finale flawlessly set the setting for a new one, but Ed Harris, who plays The Man in Black, just disclosed to The Hollywood Reporter that he anticipates starting production on season five next spring.
He said, “I don't know what they're planning. “One more season will begin filming in April and May of next year. Where that will lead, I have no notion.”

If Harris is true that filming will start next year, Westworld season five might premiere in the spring of 2024. Season four of the show started filming in June 2021 and debuted in June 2022.
Westworld Season 5 Plot: What's Going to Happen?
In the season four finale, The Man in Black caused the extinction of sentient life by using violence to exterminate both hosts and people. Dolores, however, is in control of both species' futures, as was revealed in the episode's climax.
After Charlotte uploads her Pearl to the Sublime, she does one final “test,” simulating the original Westworld park and populating it with memories of all the hosts and humans who came before her.
Joy has said that season five will complete the show's loop by having Dolores decide if sentient existence is worthwhile to save. Dolores said, “One last lap around the bend.”
Westworld Season 5 Cast: Who Will Be in It?
Given that nearly everyone was eliminated in a massacre a la Game of Thrones, this one is a little more difficult to evaluate. All of us, that is. The human race is extinct, save for a small number of “outliers.”
Cast members of Westworld are luckier than most, though, because even if their roles are killed off, the performers may come back in a different host body.
Since Joy has informed fans that not everyone will be eligible for this free pass out of robot heaven, we can't ordinarily tell you not to worry since your favorite actor will “definitely be back.” Instead, Joy has crushed those dreams. Sorry.
That would include:
• Luke Hemsworth as Ashley Stubbs
• Ed Harris as The Man in Black, aka William
• Tessa Thompson as Charlotte Hale/Dolores MK II
• Evan Rachel Wood as Dolores
• James Marsden as Teddy Flood
