Wednesday Ending Explained: Wednesday Addams' season one finale eventually reveals the true perpetrator and solves Nevermore's 30-year-old murder mystery, but it also sets up future challenges for her.
Based on Charles Addams' characters from The Addams Family, Wednesday follows the family's eldest daughter, Jenna Ortega, as she is sent to Nevermore Academy, a school for supernatural outcasts.
Wednesday's gothic personality, deadpan manner, and murderous obsessions come in handy when she investigates a murder case involving her family and endangering the lives of all outcasts.
The Tim Burton-directed Addams Family TV show concludes without closing up all of the season's loose ends, implying that the series will return for a second season on Wednesday.
Wednesday Addams may have solved the murder mystery by exposing Tyler as the Hyde monster, discovering that Miss Thornhill, A.K.A. Laurel Gates, was responsible for resurrecting Joseph Crackstone, and ultimately saving Nevermore Academy by putting a stop to these malevolent figures.
But the show teases that the enemies she made during her investigation will still cause her problems in the future. Wednesday's twist-filled season 1 finale still leaves many things unsolved while bringing new character developments that must be handled.
Wednesday Ending Explained: Who is Killer?
In the end, it turns out that Tyler (played by Hunter Doohan) and Ms. Thornhill (Christina Ricci) are working together to plan the killings that keep happening in Nevermore and the nearby town of Jericho.
We know that Wednesday might like Tyler, and we're led to believe that they'll end up together by the end of the show. In episode 7, however, when the two of them kiss, Wednesday has a vision that shows him to be the killer. He then changes into a monster called Hyde.

We find out that Thornill came up with the plan because she wanted to get back into town. So, she used Tyler to turn him against the other students at the school by telling him how his mother was treated badly by other students when she went there.
When Wednesday confronts Tyler, he attacks her while he's in Hyde form, and Wednesday's friend Enid (Emma Myers) has to change into a werewolf to save her. In the end, he is left hurt and thought to be dead in the woods.
But the final scene shows that he was picked up in an ambulance and is being cared for by paramedics. A voice-over is cut off when Tyler, in his usual form, quickly changes into Mr. Hyde and gives the audience a scary look right before the credits start to roll.
Will There Be a Second Season of Wednesday?
Neither Netflix nor the creators have confirmed whether Wednesday will be renewed for a second season. However, it may be too soon to expect solid renewal news. An announcement is expected in late December or early 2023. The fact that the climax opened the possibility of more stories is undoubtedly a good indication.
