Wandavision Season 2: Will It Ever Going To Happen?

The future of WandaVision is as uncertain as to the future of the show itself. Think Marvel will continue the story of everyone's favorite Avengers after the first season concludes? Do you think they will? Will there be a Wandavision Season 2?

The future of WandaVision, or any other new superhero series on Disney+, is unclear at this time, but Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has been notoriously vague in the past about the matter.

According to Feige in an interview with Variety published earlier this year, each show will have a different number of seasons than the others:

“Some television shows have been created with the intent of expanding our story before being turned into films. ” It has already been announced that [Elizabeth] Olsen will appear in Dr. Strange 2. “Teyonah Parris (WandaVision's Monica Rambeau actress) will join the cast of Captain Marvel 2,” says the studio.

What is the release date for Season 2 of Wandavision?

As of now, there is no word on whether or not WandaVision will return for a second season, and Elizabeth Olsen has been busy filming Doctor Strange 2, so if the show does make a comeback, don't expect new episodes until late 2022 at the earliest.

Olsen is currently working on the miniseries Love and Death with Jessica Jones co-star Krysten Ritter, Almost Famous's Patrick Fugit, and American Horror Story's Lily Rabe, who will all appear in the series. The true story of Texas housewife Candy Montgomery (Olsen), who brutally murdered her friend Betty Gore (Rabe) with an axe in 1980, will be told in a feature film to be released in 2022 by the producers of Big Little Lies and The Undoing.

A Very British Scandal, the second installment of the BBC drama A Very British Scandal, will star Claire Foy and her WandaVision co-star Paul Bettany, who also appeared in the first installment. It is based on the infamous divorce of the Duke (Bettany) and Duchess of Argyll (Foy) in 1963, which is considered to be one of the most salacious court cases in the history of the United Kingdom.

The comedy-drama Harvest Moon, which Bettany co-wrote, will be his next project, and he'll be involved with both of those projects for quite some time.

However, there was some good news in October when it was revealed that the show's creator and head writer Jac Schaeffer had been lined up to write and executive produce a spin-off series – based on fan-favorite character Agatha Harkness – which could mean that the second season of WandaVision is in the works.

Variety has reported that Kathryn Hahn will reprise her role as the witchy Agatha for a darkly comic series, but there is no other information available at this time about the project. A prequel, showing us all the evil deeds Agatha was up to before she met Wanda, or an epilogue, picking up her story from the conclusion of WandaVision, where she was trapped by Wanda in her housewife Agnes persona in the town of Westview, are two possibilities for the series finale.

Agatha is still alive, according to Hahn, who has stated that we have not seen the last of her. “There are so many aspects of her that I find fascinating,” she said in an interview with Gold Derby earlier this year. Throughout the comics, she interacts with characters from a variety of different worlds.”

Because she's been around for hundreds of years, she's seen a lot, and she's crossed paths with a lot of different people and beings throughout her life. It would be a blast to learn more about her and her past.

What is the cast?

Wandavision season 2

Given how much reality fluctuates in WandaVision, it's impossible to predict who will be returning for season two at this point.

It's difficult to say because the show's finale appears to have wiped out everyone who was specifically tied to Westview – including Wanda's version of Vision and their two children – from existence.

All of this would be dependent on how the new episodes' storyline played out; however, for the time being, here's a list of all of the major characters who could return in a hypothetical season two:

  • Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff / Scarlet Witch
  • Paul Bettany as Vision/White Vision
  • Debra Jo Rupp as Mrs. Hart
  • Fred Melamed as Arthur Hart
  • Kathryn Hahn as Agnes /Agatha Harkness
  • Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau/Photon
  • Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis
  • Randall Park as Jimmy Woo
  • Emma Caulfield as Dottie Jones
  • Evan Peters as Fake Pietro
  • Ithamar Enriquez as Commercial Man
  • Victoria Blade as Commercial Woman

In a previous interview with Esquire, Paul Bettany hinted that another popular Marvel character could make an appearance at the conclusion of season one, implying that a second season could be in the works. When it came to guessing who it could have been, fans were split, with Benedict Cumberbatch being a popular choice.

As a result, we now know that Bettany was, in fact, playing a joke on all of us. It has since been revealed that not only did Doctor Strange not appear at the very end of the film but that Bettany was joking around. When we were introduced to the two different versions of Vision in the post-credit scene of episode eight, we were a little concerned that something was wrong.

“Knowing when something is going to be amusing and saying it is one of those moments? And then you become genuinely concerned about it? Because that is exactly what I did “During an appearance on Good Morning America, he admitted his guilt.

“Fans began to speculate about who it could be, with some speculating that it could be someone like Benedict Cumberbatch or Patrick Stewart. And I thought to myself, ‘Oh my God, that's a fantastic idea!' They're going to be so disappointed when they find out it's me who they're looking for!”

WandaVision Season 2 Plot

When asked by Collider if Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness will serve as the second season of WandaVision, Elizabeth Olsen responded, “I guess the answer is that [WandaVision] could [get a second season].”

Though the language is vague, it does appear to imply that Wanda will continue to play a more prominent role in the story's progression and development.

Even though the events of Doctor Strange 2 are still a long way off, WandaVision's episode nine finale can provide some insight into what might happen next.

We were already speculating about the possibility that Wanda would turn into an antagonist at some point, driven insane by her grief and pain, thanks to the comics. There is no doubt that she will play an important role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe going forward in her role as the Scarlet Witch (and in her badass new costume).

Wandavision season 2

Having been demolished, Wanda is once again alone on the same piece of property from which everything started. It appears that her family has been exterminated (at least for the time being), and those who had been entrapped under her spell are now free and rather terrified of her.

She takes to the skies in her new Scarlet Witch outfit, which she has just purchased. And that's the end of it.

First, we're led to believe she's mourning, but then the camera pans to Scarlet Witch (another Wanda), who is floating in the air and flipping through the Darkhold book. This leads us to believe she's celebrating.

Then we hear Billy's voice scream, “Help, help me!” which indicates that she is now concentrating on finding a way to reunite with her long-lost children.

Kevin Feige, Marvel's president and chief creative officer, expressed his hope that WandaVision would be revived in some form during a press tour of the Television Critics Association on February 24.
