Things look less than weird for David Harbor as he has received a role in the upcoming movie Violent Night from Universal.

Harbour will play the lead in the movie Tommy Wirkola, a Norwegian filmmaker (Dead Snow, Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters). Pat Casey and Josh Miller, who wrote the script for Sonic the Hedgehog, are working on this one.
A company called 87North, led by David Leitch, Chad Stahelski, and Kelly McCormick, is producing the movie.
Close-up viewers may recognize the company's name because it is responsible for Atomic Blonde starring Charlize Theron, the relaunch of the Kung Fu series currently airing on the CW, and the John Wick franchise.
There wasn't much detail in the casting announcement for Harbour, but it did mention that Violent Night is a dark holiday thriller.
It might be safe to predict that this movie will be packed with thrills and severe action sequences based on the resume of 87North and what Harbour displayed when donning the Red Guardian gear in Black Widow.
In his last piece, Dead Snow, a group of students were attacked by zombie Nazis who had risen from the dead in the isolated Norwegian mountains. Wirkola is no stranger to acting in darker settings.
The movie wasn't afraid to use gore and was savage in its killings. Despite the film's horrifying aspects, it also included some comic moments, which may have benefited Harbour's comedic acting style as he is recognized for doing so in his work.

Chris Bumbray, a member of JoBlo, enjoyed a ton of amazing trailers tonight at CinemaCon in Las Vegas. He watched trailers for the films Halloween Ends, Nope by Jordan Peele, M3GAN by James Wan, and Blumhouse, Beast, which stars Idris Elba in a fight against a man-eating lion, and The Last Voyage of the Demeter, which is a Dracula film.
However, the Violent Night clip from Dead Snow director Tommy Wirkola, which stars Stranger Things and Black Widow actor David Harbour as Santa Claus, was his favorite of the evening.
Violent Night, written by Josh Miller and Patrick Casey (of Sonic the Hedgehog), will demonstrate what transpires.
Produced at Universal, Violent Night was set up by 87North Productions' David Leitch and Kelly McCormick. Although he wasn't given credit as a co-director, Leitch is best recognized for his work on the original John Wick film. Since then, he has also directed Atomic Blonde, Deadpool 2, and Fast & Furious Presents Hobbs & Shaw.
The project is being managed by the studio's Executive Vice President of Production Development at Universal Pictures; Matt Reilly, and Director of Production Development, Tony Ducret.
John Leguizamo (Land of the Dead), Beverly D'Angelo (National Lampoon's Vacation), Alexis Louder (Copshop); Cam Gigandet (Tom Clancy's Without Remorse); André Eriksen (Norsemen); Edi Patterson (The Righteous Gemstones), and newcomer Alex Haskell are among the cast members of Violent Night; which Harbour describes as “a hardcore Christmas action movie.”
I think this sounds amazing, but I was sold on it the moment I learned that Tommy Wirkola and David Leitch were directing and producing a film about David Harbour battling terrorists in the role of Santa Claus.
