Undone, Amazon Prime Video's new eight-part animated series is a marvel. The series, created by Bojack Horseman creators Raphael Bob-Waksberg and Kate Purdy, is 20 minutes long and packed with depth and wit.

After a serious vehicle accident leaves Alma (Rosa Salazar) hospitalized for weeks, Undone follows Alma's (Rosa Salazar) recovery. After the accident, she starts seeing her late father's ghost, Jacob (Bob Odenkirk), who tells her she must utilize her newfound power to save him on the night he was killed.

Its modest format allows Undone to examine Alma's character and shattered mind, as well as how her odd and frequently disturbing behavior affects her family.

Undone's graphic design sets it apart from other cartoons. Rotoscoping is a technique in which live-action scenes are filmed and then traced over by animators, making Undone's look both frightening and beautiful. The show's makers can create magnificent, psychedelic sequences while keeping much of the material anchored in reality.

While Bojack Horseman uses a colorful cast of characters and visual comedy to concentrate on despair, Undone uses its unique graphic style to focus on schizophrenia. The question isn't openly addressed until much later, but it's always there: Is it all in Alma's head?

Was it a true spiritual awakening, or is she suffering from a mental disorder that has driven her to remove herself from her family and grow closer to her imagined father? Undone's most important and intriguing topic is Alma's mental health, which touches on issues rarely addressed so delicately.

Alma's profession and social life suffer as her father pushes her to abandon her regular life and focus on him and his death. The exciting time travel sequences blossom with vivid hues and intriguing mystery, whereas the sections when she talks about wedding arrangements with her sister are dull, with only the characters' incredibly realistic and emotional faces showing life.

This depth would not be possible without Rosa Salazar. The rotoscoping exaggerates every facial emotion, and Salazar makes the most of a technique that some performers would loathe. Despite his brilliance, Bob Odenkirk's role often falls flat.

Actors sometimes struggle to adapt from live-action to motion capture or voice work, and Odenkirk's performance exemplifies this. Undone is one of the finest TV dramas of 2019, and its cryptic finale will have people discussing long after the credits roll.

What Is the Plot of Undone Season 2?

An accident that alters her sense of time causes her to reconcile with her deceased father in Undone.

Season one of Undone follows Alma as she struggles to accept her incredible talent, which she refers to as a “gift.” She becomes adept at switching between her spiritual experiences and the physical world through practice.

However, what is genuine to her? To solve her father's death mystery, Alma develops a new relationship with time and space and learns she can utilize this to learn more about it.

The teaser for Season 2 teases that Alma will continue on her mysterious quest, which grows more strange as time goes on. Alma requires some explanation as to why she was born with this talent.

Now that Becca can travel across time, the two of them may work together to accomplish something truly unique. As a result of having both sisters with the ability, they may learn more about their family's history and their own, which can benefit them emotionally, psychologically, and spiritually.

We'll have to wait and see in Undone's forthcoming second season if it helps Alma unravel the mystery of her father's death and if it brings her any closure.
