Trolley Season 1 Episode 15 Recap

Hye-Joo makes the TV appearance and reluctantly admits her son's false guilt. Immediately following the interview, she begins to remove her ring, signaling to Joong-Do that the divorce proceedings will soon be finalized.

Yet he begs her not to remove the ring, explaining that a divorce would make it more difficult for the bill to become law. Not long after, she finds out that Yeo-Jin attempted suicide and is now being treated at the hospital. She quickly leaves to see how she is doing and sends Joong-Do away when he shows up.

Eventually, Yeo-Jin regains consciousness, and when Hye-Joo starts expressing her dissatisfaction once more, she comes clean and tells her the truth. Ji-Hoon was misinformed, she says; she was raped by Joong-Do, not some other man.

Because he knew Hye-Joo would be astonished, the Assemblyman had later requested her not to inform her. Yeo-Jin would have to make a tremendous sacrifice that would haunt her for decades.

Hye-Joo sees through her lies and mourns alongside her. She then asks to go to the police station with her, but ultimately decides against it since she believes Joong-Do's actions were for the greater good and that she can find a way to accept them.

Seung-Hee, who overhears, threatens to tell the public until Hye-Joo admits responsibility for her brother's death. When Hye-Joo confronts Joong-Do with the facts, the brazen man apologizes again—this time bringing up the bill, which causes Hye-Joo to lose her cool.

She subsequently confronts Chairwoman Woo with the truth, but the politician urges her to remain silent for the sake of the bigger truth, despite the fact that she has no intention of aiding Joong-Do.

Then she presses Hye-Joo on why she isn't going public with Yeo-Jin's plight and her husband's crime, to which Hye-Joo replies that they're doing it for the greater good.

But at the end of episode 15 of Trolley, Hye-Joo tells the world the truth about her son and her husband during a press conference.

Trolley Season 1 Episode 15 Review

A lot went on in just one scene. What people would do when they were stuck between a rock and a hard place is fascinating to observe in light of these newly revealed truths and the emotions driving some very tough decisions.

It's fascinating to see how the males rationalize rape as an accident as if Joong-do stumbled into a woman unawares. However, while it is true that some people are truly nasty, the decision to move this plot forward while still involving Seung-hee feels quite arbitrary.

Her plot is pretty much over at this point, but every once in a while she appears on screen, looking irritated and giving commands. Although she is aware that these are ineffective, she continues to try them in the hopes of achieving different outcomes.

It's only one episode before the season finale, so I'm curious as to when we can finally move on from her. As for me, I didn't have any major issues with the episode. We weren't caught off guard, but knowing that this was likely to happen made us uncomfortable.

There was excellent acting throughout, but Seo Jung-heartbreaking Yeon's turn as Yeo-jin made an especially strong impression.
