Total War: Warhammer 3: Release Date

Total War: Warhammer 3 is due to release on February 17 and is currently available for pre-order, with special extras including a free Ogre Kingdoms Race Pack, two new Legendary Lords, new Lords and Heroes, and 20+ troops for those who pre-order.

The Daemon Prince is the last faction for Total War: Warhammer three according to Creative Assembly. This changeable avatar may modify practically every feature of its physique and symbolises the four Chaos Gods.

“Creative Assembly has refined its fantasy formula in leaps and bounds,” Andy Brown stated in NME's preview, “and the most exciting thing I can say is that Warhammer 3 is shaping up to stand even higher than its predecessors.”

Trailers for Total War: Warhammer 3

Creative Assembly and Sega have released several trailers for the game so far. The reveal trailer puts Kislev against Khorne's soldiers, amusingly confirming one of the game's factions. Here's where you can find it:

On May 12, 2021, a new teaser debuted, this time featuring Khorne's demonic hordes.

The unveiling of Grand Cathay is the subject of another trailer:

The factions and gameplay in Total War: Warhammer 3

The amount of factions in Total War: Warhammer 3 is remarkable. Unlike the previous two games, which each had four factions (not including any DLC), this one will have six. The Tzardom of Kislev, long a palette-swap of the Empire and little more than a punching bag, will suddenly be a kingdom in its own right, with each of the four Chaos Gods getting their army. Even more incredible, Cathay, the mysterious eastern empire, is the sixth faction accessible right now!

Here's a list of every new faction we've discovered so far:

  • Chaos Daemons — Nurgle: Available at launch
  • Chaos Daemons — Tzeentch: Available at launch
  • Chaos Daemons — Slaanesh: Available at launch
  • Chaos Daemons — Khorne: Available at launch
  • Kislev: Available at launch
  • Cathay: Available at launch
  • Ogre Kingdoms: Race Pack DLC

Each of the Chaos Gods represents a different facet of evil. Nurgle is the deity of sickness, evolution, and illness; Tzeentch is the god of wisdom, cunning, and deception; Slaanesh is the god of lust, desire, and hedonism; and Khorne, the god of battle, is thirsty for blood and skulls.

There will be nine Legendary Lords divided throughout these six factions when the game launches. The Ogre Kingdoms will be available as DLC at launch, with Creative Assembly pledging that anybody who preorders or buys Total War: Warhammer 3 during the first week will receive the Race Pack for free.

Total War Warhammer 3 (4)

According to the game's description, there is a mysterious individual with a part to play who has yet to be disclosed “And there is someone who is plotting to do exactly that, an old figure who wants nothing more than to wield absolute power. But he'll need a champion to triumph…” This might be a reference to Nagash, an ancient king of the dead with ties to the Vampire Counts and Tomb Kings.

Total War: Warhammer 3's map, which encompasses the icy north of Kislev, the far east of Cathay, and the Chaos Wastes leading into the Realms of Chaos, is nearly double the size of Total War: Warhammer 2's Eye of the Vortex map, according to game director Ian Roxburgh.

In Total War: Warhammer 3, several significant aspects have been overhauled. Siege conflicts have more depth, with many walls and more choices for defenders. Meanwhile, diplomacy is being revamped, as the armies of Chaos will not barter with all mortal groups save a small number of them, such as the Skaven.

There are also a few new Magic Lores:

  • Lore of Tzeentch
  • Lore of Nurgle
  • Lore of Slaanesh
  • Lore of Yin
  • Lore of Yang
  • Lore of Ice
  • Lore of Tempest

Total War: Warhammer 3 will let players combine games in a Mortal Empires-style mode. A free update will be available soon after launch for gamers who purchase all three games, allowing them to be combined into one massive Warhammer adventure. When all three games and their DLC are combined, there will be a total of 22 different factions when this is published. Many of these factions, such as the Tomb Kings, are further divided into sub-factions.

Creative Assembly has finished supporting Total War: Warhammer 2 with fresh content, with one more DLC pack having been released following the Twisted and Twilight additions.

Map for Total War: Warhammer 3

The official map for Total War: Warhammer 3 has yet to be unveiled by Creative Assembly. Because it incorporates a piece of the Old World in the shape of Kislev and the Chaos Wastes, we know it's the biggest yet. The Cathay Empire will also be there, and both forces will be invading the Realms of Chaos, a perplexing and chaotic realm controlled by the four terrible gods.
