Fast and Furious 10
Starting off the list, we have the tenth and final release of the Fast and Furious saga. The series has always been known for showcasing the latest prototypes and supercars on the big screen along with some of the most scenic locations on the planet. And it has evolved over the years from street racing to fully-fledged heists. The initial cast and crew have given way to a wide range of characters in the recent releases. After a few delays, Universal has confirmed the release date to be 19th May 2023.
Like the F&F saga, Pixar's Cars franchise is just as old, featuring an entertaining world with sentient cars that can talk. The story follows Lightning McQueen, a racer that faces off against modern rivals but still comes out on top by believing in himself. However, the 4th movie is still under production. We can expect the story to follow Cruz Ramirez, with Lightning as her mentor. According to the actor Owen Wilson who voices the protagonist, Cars 4 is expected to be similar to Cars 2. Owing to the pandemic, the dates have been pushed and the movie is slated to be released on February 14, 2025, if everything follows the schedule.
Cars on the Road
“Cars on the Road” is an animated TV Series and it will be a spinoff of one of the best car movies- “Cars” franchise. Unlike the movies, the series will steer away from the racing storyline. Instead, it follows the adventures of Lightning McQueen and Mater, throwing light on their friendship on a closer level. Expect the series to launch on Disney+ in late 2022.
Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning Part One
The Mission Impossible franchise is also known for showcasing some of the best stunt chases in the industry. Directed by Christopher McQuarrie, this seventh installment in the Mission: Impossible film series is expected to up the ante. Tom Cruise will return along with some newcomers like Hayley Atwell and Pom Klementieff. The series is also known for real-life stunts and relying less on CGI, making the action sequences a lot more appealing. The first part is going to be released on July 14, 2023, while the second part is slated to hit the big screen in 2024.
Directed by Micheal Bay, Ambulance features a lot of thrills and action. The plot revolves around two robbers who plan a heist to heal their dying mother. But the plan turns into chaos when they realize that there is a dying police personnel at the back. Featuring thrilling chase scenes and action, Ambulance will keep you on the edge of your seat the whole time. Moreover, the movie features some famous actors like Jake Gyllenhaal, Eiza Gonzalez, Keir O'Donnell, and more. The movie was launched in April 2022 and it is a must-watch.
John Wick: Chapter 4
Along with supercool combat scenes, the John Wick series also features some excellent car chases to keep you involved. The movie has been delayed for two years because of the COVID pandemic, and is opening on March 24, 2023. Not many details have been released about the film other than the protagonist not having a “happy ending”. The cast includes actors like Laurence Fishburne, Lance Riddick, Ian Mcshane, and Keanu Reeves. This is also expected to be the final chapter in the John Wick series.
Transformers: Rise of the Beasts
Another supercool franchise known for showcasing the latest cars and action is Transformers. The latest addition to the series will go back in time to the 1980s, showing another side of the conflict between factions. Expect to see all the popular cars during this time period and car chases. The movie is set to open on June 9, 2023, and will feature actors like Ron Perlman, Anthony Ramos, Peter Cullen, Dominique Fishback, and more.
A name synonymous with the video game racing genre, Sony will release the highly anticipated movie on 11th August 2023. The story follows a teenage gamer who excels at the Gran Turismo video game, winning a series of competitions that leads him to a sponsorship offer from Nissan. Given a chance to become a real-life racing driver, the teenager will prove his mettle on the racetrack, using all the skills he learned in the game. The movie is expected to follow the same story of GT Academy, a television program run by Nissan and Sony Interactive Entertainment last decade which provided Gran Turismo gamers the chance to go from virtual to reality and start a real-life professional racing career with Nissan.
