Charles released a statement to TMZ on March 3, 2023, to inform the public of Tom's passing.

“It is with great sadness and sorrow I have to announce that actor Thomas Edward Sizemore (“Tom Sizemore”) aged 61 passed away peacefully in his sleep today at St Joseph’s Hospital Burbank. His Brother Paul and twin boys Jayden and Jagger (17) were at his side.”

Although the precise circumstances behind Tom's passing are unknown, they are likely connected to complications stemming from the brain aneurysm he suffered on February 18.

Tom's manager, Charles Lago, gave his initial comment about Tom's health to People on February 27. “The doctors have told the family there is no chance for recovery and they advise making an end-of-life decision. The family is currently making final arrangements, and an update will be provided on Wednesday” As Charles put it.

At the end of his speech, he said, “His family has asked to be given privacy at this time and they appreciate the outpouring of love and prayers they have received. They've had a tough time of it lately.”

In a 2010 interview with Larry King of CNN, Tom was candid about his drug usage, saying that he had struggled with addiction to cocaine, heroin, and meth. Also, Tom stated that it was during his time in Hollywood that he was first exposed to substances like cocaine.

Tom admitted at the time that he started using the substance after seeing “an actor whose name I can't tell you” do it. He also stated in the same interview that his ex-girlfriend Heidi Fleiss was the one who first introduced him to meth. Tom was arrested for “driving under the influence and possession of a controlled substance” in 2019 and 2020, as reported by Page Six.
