The Wolf Among Us 2 Will Be Released in Episodes in 2023 but Developed as a Single Game!

The Wolf Among Us 2 will be released in episodic installments starting in 2023, however, Telltale will complete development on every chapter before the first installment hits the shelves in 2023.

Informers from Telltale revealed that they are building the full Wolf Among Us 2 five-episode season at the same time and that it would be released at a ‘tighter cadence' than the original game during today's news stream.

Although no specific release dates were provided, we now know that it will be available for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in 2023.

Several of Telltale's episodic games were built chapter by chapter by the company's initial form, which occasionally resulted in lengthy delays when production problems arose.

The Wolf Among Us 2, which is being created by a new team under the Telltale label, will not be following in the footsteps of its predecessor.

In addition, a debut gameplay trailer and fresh story tidbits were revealed during today's webcast.

The anti-hero Bigby Wolf will be suspended and placed in anger management counseling in the second game, which takes place six months after the first. Snow White will now serve as the vice mayor of the game's fictional town of Fabletown.

Beginning with a voice-over narration by the protagonist Bigby Wolf, who describes an investigation that landed him in an anger management session. At the Good Sleep motel, we witness him tracking down a strange tall man, which he does by breaking into the building and sneaking in.

After a brief introduction, it is revealed that Bigby will be pitted against a collection of Fables from ‘The Wizard of Oz,' including Tin-Man and the Scarecrow, in this installment.

Our first look at the game's wildly styled aesthetics and synth score, as well as its new characters, including the Tin Man and Scarecrow from The Wizard of Oz, is provided by the video. As is customary with The Wolf Among Us, these aren't the characters you're familiar with.

We're nearing the conclusion of a long road for The Wolf Among Us 2, which was announced in 2017, delayed in 2018, terminated the following year after Telltale was virtually shut down, and ‘fully restarted' when a new version of Telltale was released in late 2018.

With the plot of Bigby Wolf and a murder inquiry in Fabletown, the original was something of a cult classic for a long time to come. In our review at the time, we gave the conclusion a 9.3 rating, noting that it “provides some of the finest storytelling I’ve played in a long time.”

According to CEO Jamie Otillie and co-founder of AdHoc Studio, Nick Herman, the game begins six months after the events of the original, at which point Bigby has been suspended from active Sheriff duties in Fabletown, according to the original's official website.

There's also some tension building between him and Snow White, who is serving as acting Deputy Mayor, which adds to the sense of antagonism between the characters.

The game will be released in episodic episodes, as has been the case with previous Telltale games (5 episodes). However, they will only begin rolling out once the entire plot has been completed, ensuring that players will not be forced to wait months for the next installment to be released.
