NASA conducts a press conference to announce that Shepard, Grissom, and Glenn will be the “first team” to be flown into space. However, they deny that the three will be launched in any particular order.

Glenn recognizes that keeping the order hidden allows NASA to alter their minds, so he sends letters to NASA regarding Shepard's misbehavior, despite Annie's displeasure.

PSAC recommends intensive testing of the astronauts two months before launch. Shepard's demonstration is a success, despite his ear trouble.

When Slayton's cardiac arrhythmia is found, he is removed from Seven. Shepard's launch has been postponed to do a chimp launch test.

The test is successful, but the delay allows the Russians to send Yuri Gagarin into orbit as the first man in space.

Update About The Right Stuff Season 2

Last year, things were still looking up for ‘The Right Stuff,' but in April 2021, we received some bad news.

  • The program gets canceled after only one season on Disney+. Warner Brothers are looking for a new home for the show, but no new streamer or network has been revealed to pick it up as of this update.
  • According to sources, the cancellation was due to a shift in NatGeo's strategic focus, not the show's success.

Season two is expected to premiere in 2021, depending on production speed. The follow-up might include another eight episodes, which would run weekly rather than being released at once.
