The Patient Season 2: Release Date | Confirm or Cancelled! Check Here!

The Patient is a psychological thriller that Joel Fields and Joe Weisberg created, co-produced, and co-wrote. Chris Long, Caroline Moore, Victor Hsu, and Steve Carell are executive producers.

It came out on Hulu on August 30, 2022, and the season's last episode came out on October 25, 2022. It's a story about a therapist whose patient kidnaps him and forces him to talk about how he really feels.

It has the tagline “A therapist must face their own worst fear,” but it's not based on a true story or a book. Instead, co-creators Joel Fields and Joe Weisberg were inspired by their own therapy experiences, which they found interesting.

Is Season 2 of the Patient Coming Back or Not?

Fans are interested in The Patient season 2, and many of them want to know if the show will be back for a second season or if season 1 will be the last one. Still, the show's production company hasn't said much about whether or not it will end.

The Patient Season 2

So there is a chance that The Patient will be renewed for a second season. After season 1 of The Patient is over, it's likely that the news of a second season will be made official.

The Patient: Expected Story for Season 2

Season 2 of The Patient would not come out, and if it did come out in the future, it would probably have a storyline that has nothing to do with the first season, or at the very least, it would show the same story from a different point of view.

Alan Strauss, played by Steve Carell, is a psychotherapist who recently lost his wife and is in a mourning period. The first season of this show is about him. Later, one of his patients, Sam Fortner (Domhnall Gleeson), a serial killer who works as a restaurant inspector, took the therapist hostage.

He kidnaps Alan (Steve Carell) because he wants him to hear all of his real confessions so that Alan can help him control his desire to kill. The plot continues with the psychotherapist trying to read and clear Sam's (Domhnall Gleeson) mind so that he can stay safe.

The Patient Season 2

As he does this, he faces his own hidden problems that he has been trying to avoid for a while. It is a thriller mystery that is surprising in how well it is done, and since it is a limited series, it is great for mystery fans who don't have much time to binge. Critics say that it is one of Domhnall Gleeson and Steve Carell's best movies.

The idea that the series is about a therapy session between a therapist who needs therapy himself and a serial killer who is looking for a way to control his urges to kill is very different. But it goes too far with the killer's arrogance and villainy, which some viewers might not find very interesting.

Cast Expectations for Season 2 of the Patient

Even though season 2 of “The Patient” hasn't been confirmed and is probably just a myth, it's likely that the same actors would be in it because the story would be the same. Or, it could show different points of view to make it more interesting, but that would still be telling the same story.

There is also a chance that the second season will have a story that has nothing to do with the first. If that happens, the cast cannot be predicted. Domhnall Gleeson (who plays Sam Fortner), Steve Carell (who plays Alan Strauss).
