The Mist Season 2: Why Did This Series Fail?

American science fiction, horror, and thriller television series The Mist was created by Christian Torpe.

It is based on Stephen King's 1980 horror novella of the same name.

From June 22 through August 24, 2017, the 10-episode season of the show aired on Spike.

Later, on September 27, that same year, Spike canceled the series.

The Mist Season 2 Plot

Artist David Drayton, his wife Stephanie, and their eight-year-old son Billy seek refuge in their lakefront home's basement during a violent thunderstorm in Bridgton, Maine.

The following morning as they assess the damage, they observe a dense mist moving over the lake. Brent Norton, a neighbor, joins David and Billy as they travel into town to get supplies.

A horrified bystander named Dan Miller runs into the store and warns of a threat lurking in the mist as they watch police cars drive down the street from inside the supermarket.

Store managers Ollie Weeks and Bud Brown lock the doors of the supermarket as a siren sounds, and a mist surrounds the establishment.

Bagger Norm starts to walk outside to fix the store's emergency generator against David's advice, but he is seized and carried into the mist by a tentacled thing.
