Spoilers for the tenth episode of the first season of the Netflix K-drama The Interest of Love follow. Playing with fire is now official for Ahn Su-yeong (Moon Ga-young) and Ha Sang-su (Yoo Yeon-Seok).
Too much time has passed since they first felt that intense attraction and they both know that suppressing it while they pursued romantic relationships was certain to fail. From here, it's unclear if they'll be able to build the romantic relationship they desire.
Let's examine and recap Episode 10 of Season 1 of The Interest of Love.
The Interest of Love Season 1 Episode 10 Recap
After attending a funeral, Season 1 Episode 10 opens with Su-Yeong playing the piano at a train station. Sang-su nudges her to get out & have fun. They are merely spending time together & having fun, not discussing any deep or meaningful issues. Sang-su eventually asks her if she is content, but she does not respond. Here comes the train. Su-Yeong confides in Sang-su, wondering if she should end things with Jong-Hyeon.
They are each perplexed by the other's inquiries as Sang-su drives Su-Yeong back to her apartment. Su-Yeong inquires as to Sang-contentment su's by asking if he has any smiles on his face. Even when asked the same thing, Sang-su gives no response. Mi-gyeong confronts Sang-su about Mi-romantic gyeong's history with Gyeong-pil, demanding to know why he kept quiet about it. Even though Sang-su assures her that she has done nothing wrong, she can't help but feel guilty about how dishonest she was.
All will be well, Sang-su assures Mi-gyeong. Mi-gyeong asks whether there is anything else he is keeping secret, but Sang-su does not respond. Instead, she brushes off the matter as though it were trivial. Now that he has enough money, Jong-hyeon informs Su-Yeong that he is leaving. He assumes she is uneasy about being in the same place as him. He assures her he will finish his schoolwork & requests that they “start anew.” After that, Jong-hyeon & Su-Yeong get cozy in bed, where he confesses his feelings for her.
The next day at work, Sang-su gets frustrated & angry at Su-yeong because he thinks she's quitting because she's holding her uniform, but then he remembers that the company no longer requires employees to wear uniforms. With that, he lets out a sigh of relief. As expected, he was completely honest about how he felt in this exchange. He's far too sentimental to be of any use.
Mi-gyeong tells her mother that she & Sang-su are no longer together, but that she likes him more than he likes her. While she was at the office, her father informed her that he had not yet given Sang-su his blessing & that he would prefer a more formal introduction. He thinks she's trying to catch up with him. Su-mom yeong gets almost run over in front of her coworkers.
When Su-mother yeong's is sick, she rushes to get her to the doctor. Sang-su stops by to see whether everything is all right, but Su-yeong is reluctant to have him there. When Su-dad yeong shows up at the hospital, she asks him if he knows she's in pain from her leg injury but is still refusing treatment.
At the end of the night, Sang-su discovers that Mi-gyeong has called him several times. The scene opens with Mi-gyeong knocking on Su-door yeong's & requesting entrance. Su-Yeong benefits from her generosity as she donates her old wardrobe. Mi-gyeong inquires as to whether Su-Yeong has returned home from the hospital & Su-Yeong reluctantly responds “yes.”

Mi-gyeong tries to provide Sang-su with the keys to the new automobile when she sees him, but he refuses to take them. There's a remark about how she doesn't want the automobile sitting around unused. As she drives off, Sang-su reaches for the keys. Mi-gyeong loses patience & orders Sang-su to either drive it or get rid of it. His refusal to let her operate the vehicle hurts her feelings.
The Interest of Love Season 1 Episode 10 Review
I'm just curious as to what motivates Gyeong-pil to be a passive-aggressive, shitbag he seems to be; it's obvious he enjoys making a scene for no reason other than to please himself. I wonder whether he’s a little psychopath who has delight in observing the agony of others. However, perhaps that's pushing things too far.
Even more so, Mi-never-ending gyeong's begging and moaning have reduced me to feel sorry for her; the woman needs to learn to respect herself. She recognizes that there’s something under the surface between Sang-su and Su-Yeong, but she still insists on pouring money into her difficulties to make every one like her.
Yeah, I get it. Because she has only ever seen this, and because her father has never paid her any attention, she is likely in dire need of this affirmation. But there must be a stopping point! Either way, I am delighted Sang-su and Su-Yeong have stopped deceiving themselves and are done with making out.

This way, at least, they have a fighting chance of making the proper choice and ending the pointless delay. In any case, I felt like the episode dragged its feet and didn't do anything to advance the story. It was entertaining, but I hope the plot picks up speed soon.
