The Gentlemen: Ritchie got back to his old style with The Gentlemen in 2019, which starred Matthew McConaughey, Charlie Hunnam, Colin Farrell, Hugh Grant, and Henry Golding in the kind of sweary crime caper that made him famous.
Since then, the director has worked on Wrath of Man, Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre, and the live-action remake of Hercules. He's also making a rare follow-up for TV. In a new Netflix show, he will go back to the world of The Gentlemen. Here's what we know so far.
What is the Release Date of The Gentlemen?
Netflix does not yet have a date for when The Gentlemen will be available. Since it's still in the early stages of development and Ritchie is working on other things, it's likely that we won't see it until late 2023 or even some time in 2024.
The deadline says that the show will start filming at the beginning of November. Ritchie and Matthew Read wrote the script for the pilot together, and Ritchie will also direct the first two episodes and be an executive producer.
What is the Plot of The Gentlemen?
In the movie Gentlemen, Matthew McConaughey plays an American who moved to London and started a very successful business selling marijuana. When word gets out that he wants to sell the business for good, people start plotting, bribing, and blackmailing to take his domain away from him.
The synopsis of The Gentlemen has been sourced from IMDb; The show is about Eddie Halstead, who got his father's large estate and then found out that it was built on top of a huge marijuana business run by the legendary Mickey Pearson. Does this honest soldier have what it takes to master the dark arts of the British criminal underworld and take charge of the whole operation?
