How did Castle Rock Season 3 End?

Annie, Nadia, Abdi, and Chance return to Salem's Lot; Annie and Chance seek Joy in Marsten House while Nadia and Abdi detonate explosives in the underground tunnels. “Etienne” reveals himself to be Pop, who died after injecting himself with Haldol, and he assists Nadia and Abdi in setting up the explosives.
The explosives detonate, shattering the townspeople's hypnotic spell. Pop is killed again in the explosion, Annie discovers Joy, and the angel from Castle Lake observes the explosion and vanishes. Joy stays aloof, and Annie incorrectly believes she is still possessed by a cultist and drowns her, only to discover her mistake later. Annie and Joy depart Castle Rock a week later.
Annie strives desperately to resurrect Joy and appears to succeed; the two reunite and rekindle their romantic engagement.

Annie, on the other hand, is only imagining Joy's recovery. Annie and “Joy” are waiting for a book signing with “their” favorite author Paul Sheldon in the closing scene.
What About Castle Rock Season 3?
The second season of the anthology series debuted almost a year ago. There were no plans for a third season, and the decision to discontinue the series after two seasons had been taken quite some time before.
Warner Bros TV, one of the initial providers of Hulu once it moved out into original premium content, has shifted its focus to HBO Max, which was just established. According to various sources, Castle Rock has no plans to return to HBO Max.
Season 3 of Castle Rock should have been published in 2020, based on the precedent of season one being released in 2018 and season two in 2019.

However, because of the COVID-19 outbreak, several production companies are delaying the premiere of their shows. As a result, season 3 is slated to premiere on March 16, 2022, with a possible 10-episode run.
Will Castle Rock Return For A Third Season?
