The Boys Season 4 Release Date: When Will It Release?

When it comes to superhero satire, there is only one program that stands out: The Boys. Season three of the Amazon Prime show premiered last week, with the first three episodes premiering on June 3rd. The series finale won't air until July 8th, but fans are already anticipating a possible season four.

The program has an amazing cast, and we can't wait to see them back on TV. Here's what we know so far regarding a possible fourth season of The Boys.

Is Season 4 of The Boys Confirmed?

Season four has yet to be formally confirmed by Amazon Prime Video, but fans have detected some hints pointing in that direction.

The Boys Season 4

In March, actor Karl Urban, who plays Billy Butcher in the show, told Variety that he will be filming The Boys until the end of 2022. In an interview, he stated, “I'm shooting The Boys till the end of the year.” So, with season three already showing as of June, Urban's filming schedule suggests that season four could be on the way.

The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke had previously approached Supernatural's Jeffrey Dean Morgan to have a cameo part in season three, but the actor was unable to accept owing to scheduling conflicts. Morgan later hinted at further The Boys episodes, tweeting in May 2022, “I'll make it happen @therealKripke [Eric Kripke],” in reaction to reports.

So, everything seems promising for Season 4?

Season four of The Boys has not yet been confirmed. However, production is expected to begin soon before the third season premiere. If reports are accurate, season four of The Boys will be released in the middle of 2023.

Details are scarce, as they are with so many in-development projects. Comic Book Resources, on the other hand, offers an unsubstantiated claim that season four of The Boys has already been greenlit. This information was obtained via the Instagram account voughthq, which also claims that production on Season 4 will begin this year. If this is the case, we shouldn't have to wait as long between releases this time. Season four of The Boys could arrive in the summer of 2023.

Before season three, the television adaptation of Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson's comic had been released on an annual basis. Season one premiered in July of 2019, with season two following in September 2020. Unfortunately, due to the ongoing pandemic, production on season three has halted, as has everything else on the planet.

Fortunately, fans will not have to wait that long for new content again. That's because The Boys is getting two spin-offs: one set in a superhero college, and another titled Diabolical, which will be released later this year as an animated series.

What Will Season 4 of the Boys Be About?

After the conclusion of Season 3, we know what we have to deal with. Temp-V has converted Butcher's brain into Swiss cheese, and his life expectancy has dropped from 12 to 18 months as a result. Who knows where we'll be in the chronology when Season 4 returns?

As if that wasn't bad enough, at the end of Season 3, Homelander lasered a protester's head off and his loving supporters merely cheered him on. It's unclear what precedence this sets. This is a bad one! Since his run-in with Soldier Boy and Butcher, Homelander's son Ryan has been following in his father's footsteps. I don't think any of this is beneficial.

Homelander's supercharged clone, Black Noir, appears in SPOILER! The Boys comics as a psychotic version of the real Homelander, and he is eventually held responsible for Homelander's darkest atrocities. At the end of the season, Ryan had a malicious look on his face. Could he become as terrible as his father? We already know that the Black Noir plot will not go in the same manner, therefore it's possible that the two stories may be combined.

Is there anything else I should be concerned about? Homelander was able to eliminate Stan Edgar and simplify power by having Victoria Neumann run as his running partner, and now she's standing for re-election as Dakota Bob Singer's Vice President. That may place the head-popper within one head-pop of the most powerful position in all of free society. Folks, there's a lot going on here.

Who will be in Season 4 of The Boys?

We'll have to wait until the season three finale on July 8th to see if everyone comes out alive and healthy. But, if they do, we'd like to see all of the main characters return for a possible season four.

The Boys Season 4

That includes Karl Urban as Billy Butcher, Jack Quaid as Hughie Campbell, Antony Starr as Homelander, Chace Crawford as The Deep/Kevin Moskowitz, Eriarty Moriarty as Annie January, Dominique McElligott as Maggie Shaw, and more.

How to Watch

When will The Boys Season 4 be available? The third season of Amazon Prime Video's popular adaption is almost here, and a fourth looks certain. But what can we be certain of? Is there any chance that The Boys will return for a fourth season on Prime Video? If yes, when and where will it be shown?
