Slime Isekai is a light novel series written by Fuse and drawn by Mitz Vah, set in Japan. The plot revolves around a salaryman who is slain and reincarnates as a slime with special abilities in a sword and sorcery realm, where he collects friends to form his own country of monsters. Between 2013 and 2016, it was serialized on the user-generated novel publishing website Shsetsuka ni Nar. Micro Magazine bought it and released the first light novel volume in 2014.
As of March 2021, seventeen volumes have been published. Yen Press has licensed the light novel in North America, and the first volume was released in December 2017. It was adapted as a manga series by Kodansha, as well as three manga spin-offs by Micro Magazine and Kodansha, and an anime television series adapted by Eight Bit, which ran from October 2018 to March 2019.
From January to September 2021, a second season of the anime series aired, as did an anime adaptation of the second spin-off manga from April to June 2021. In the fourth quarter of 2022, an anime film will be released.
What's in The First Part?
Satoru Mikami, a 37-year-old corporate worker in Tokyo, is a regular guy. Despite the fact that he has no girlfriend, he is nearly satisfied with his boring life. An attacker appears out of nowhere and stabs him during a casual contact with his coworker. A mystery voice repeats in his head as he succumbs to his injuries, reciting a sequence of orders he couldn't understand.
When Satoru regains consciousness, he learns that he has been reborn as a Slime in a strange planet. Simultaneously, he gains additional abilities, including the “Predator” ability, which allows him to eat anything and imitate its look and abilities. He comes upon Veldora Tempest, a Catastrophe-level ‘Storm Dragon' who has been imprisoned for 300 years for destroying a village.
Satoru befriends the dragon, offering to assist him in shattering the seal since he feels sorry for him. Veldora bestows the name Rimuru Tempest on him in exchange for heavenly protection. Rimuru earns the friendship and loyalty of the monsters that live in the Great Jura Forest thanks to his newfound talents and knowledge, and they accept him as their king, and together they create the country of Tempest.
Rimuru and his followers catch the attention of surrounding foreign powers, from kings and legendary heroes to demon lords, as their new nation develops in strength and influence. Some wish to become allies, while others aim to exploit or destroy them entirely for the purpose of their goals.
When Will We See The Slime Season 3?
We see Rimuru in his ultimate struggle against the demon king Clayman in the season 2 finale, “Octagram.” Clayman has gained additional abilities as a result of his waking, making him even more deadly. Despite this, the episode concludes on a good note, with Rimuru emerging victorious in the combat. If Season 3 is approved, we may anticipate it to pick up right after the great fight.
Season 2's last episode matches to the conclusion of Volume 6: The Octagram Soars Brightly, a light novel. The third season will most likely begin adapting Volume 7 based on the anime's pacing and where the last season finished.
“That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime” aired the first half of its split-cour second season from January to March 2021, with the second half of the split-cour Season 2 anticipated in July 2021. Because both courses are technically part of the same season, you can expect the series to be published on schedule. When it comes to Season 3, it's difficult to predict when it will be announced. While it wouldn't be surprising if Studio8bit announced a third season after this one concluded, some animes continue for extended periods of time without being renewed. This time, hopefully, that will not be the case.
Synopsis of Volume 7
A brave glob in peril!” The Holy Empire of Lubelius is shaken to its core by news of the demon lord Clayman's defeat by Rimuru, especially because Hinata Sakaguchi, the nation's Imperial Guard and leader of the Crusader troops, led a daring attack on Rimuru not long ago.
When a priest dispatched by Rimuru to attend an important meeting of Lubelius bigwigs is killed, things seem much worse. As Hinata goes to Tempest to settle matters, the stakes could not be greater for either side—one incorrect move may signal utter war!
