Stephen Douglas Kerr (born September 27, 1965) is the head coach of the Golden State Warriors of the National Basketball Association. He is a former professional basketball player (NBA).
With the Warriors, he has coached the team to three NBA Championships and five NBA championships as a player, three of which he won with the Chicago Bulls and two with the San Antonio Spurs.
It marks the first time since 1969 that a player has won four straight NBA championships. With at least 250 three-pointers made, Kerr holds the NBA's highest career three-point field goal percentage (45.4 percent).
Until Kyle Korver broke the mark in 2010, he held the NBA record for the greatest three-point percentage in a season at 52.4 percent.
Kerr was a member of the Arizona Wildcats' collegiate basketball team. First-team All-Pac-10 (now the Pac-12) and All-American accolades as a senior in 1988 were just a few of his achievements as a college basketball player.
He played 15 seasons in the NBA after being drafted in the second round in 1988 by the Phoenix Suns. In 2004, Kerr joined the consortium led by Robert Sarver that bought the Suns and became a minority owner of the franchise.
Phoenix selected Kerr as their president of basketball operations and general manager in June 2007. He was a valued basketball advisor to majority owner Sarver at the time.
Despite announcing his resignation in June 2010, Kerr held on to a minority stake in the company until 2014. Following his time as a color analyst for NBA on TNT, Kerr went on to become an NBA head coach in 2014.
Kerr was named head coach of the Golden State Warriors for the first time in May of 2014. Five straight NBA Finals appearances and three titles in 2015, 2017, and 2018 were all achieved under his watch as head coach.
73 victories in a season was a record for the 2015–16 Warriors, who beat out Kerr's 1995–96 Chicago Bulls for the most wins in an NBA season.

Steve Kerr was born in Beirut, Lebanon, on September 27, 1965. A humanitarian from the United States, Stanley Kerr relocated to Lebanon after the Armenian Genocide to aid rescued women and orphans.
To complete his studies in Lebanon after suffering from terrible arthritis in the early stages of his career, Malcolm returned to Princeton. Malcolm went on to receive a Ph.D. in Arabic Studies, as well as various other postgraduate degrees.
