Stanley Wilson Jr Cause of Death: Former Lions Defensive Back, Dies After Collapse

Recently in the month of February, the body of former Detroit Lions cornerback Stanley Wilson Jr. was discovered in the mortuary of the Metropolitan State Hospital in Los Angeles County.

Early in the month, 40-year-old Wilson Jr. was transferred there. He was taken into custody by the police in August of last year on charges of vandalism.

According to TMZ, Wilson collapsed and was found dead by caretakers at the facility. While authorities have determined there was no foul play involved, the results of his toxicological tests are still being processed.

The cause of death was not immediately known, but officials are expected to conduct an autopsy.  The senior Stanley Wilson played running back with the Bengals, but his career was cut short due to cocaine abuse.

Wilson Jr. had a history of legal trouble; his most recent arrest came after he allegedly broke into a Hollywood Hills property and showered in the backyard fountain. After prosecutors deemed him unable to face trial, he was taken to the hospital.
