On July 24, 2019, South Side made its debut. Comedy Central ordered another 10 episodes for season 2 on August 28, 2019. The series was announced on August 13, 2020 as a “Max Original,” meaning that the first season will premiere on HBO Max in 2021 and then be relocated to HBO Max in November 2021. On November 11, 2021, the season two premiere aired. The third season of the show was ordered by HBO Max on February 8th, 2022.
