Wednesday's success has skyrocketed after the premiere of its first season; the show is now the third most-watched English-language series on Netflix. Despite the lack of formal confirmation, fans of the magical coming-of-age comedy are already looking forward to Season 2.

Sabrina, a teenage girl in the fictitious village of Greendale, has the added burden of carrying on her family's legacy—the Church of Night. This series, like Wednesday before it, depicts a young woman coming of age against an increasingly sinister and nefarious backdrop.

8. The Sandman
The Sandman, or Dream, a celestial monster who rules over dreams, is kidnapped & held captive for nearly 100 years. He must undertake a journey through multiple dimensions & eras to repair the damage he has caused during his absence. The series, adapted from comics by Neil Gaiman, the master of cosmic tales, is rich in metaphor & offers a fantastical world.
Tom Sturridge plays the title role, alongside co-stars Boyd Holbrook, Vivienne Acheampong, and Patton Oswalt. The supernatural elements that have always played such a large role in the series are fully exploited in “The Sandman,” as they have been in nearly every other installment.
7. The Midnight Club
It's been a while, but Mike Flanagan is back with another strange ghost story & this time he's not relying on the framework provided by The Haunting. According to the plot summary on IMDB, The Midnight Club follows eight terminally ill patients at Brightcliffe Hospice as they begin to meet together at midnight to tell ghost stories. It's not as terrifying as his other two Netflix series, but it still has a compelling plot.
6. I Am Not Okay With This
There was just one season of I Am Not Okay With This, but you should still check it out while you wait for the next installment on Wednesday. A black comedy with a coming-of-age storyline, the show follows 17-year-old Sydney as she learns that she possesses telekinetic abilities.

Sydney's relationship with her mom is just as fraught as Wednesday's with her dad. She likewise struggles to manage and master her powers. As a result, the two main characters share some similarities despite being quite different individuals.

We need more teen-oriented supernatural television series. This show is an offshoot of the CW's The Vampire Diaries, which ran for 4 years. Hope Mikaelson (Danielle Rose Russell), a half-vampire, half-werewolf & half-witch, is a new student at the Salvatore School for the Young & Gifted, a boarding school for supernaturally gifted teenagers who feel out of place in the regular world. There isn't nearly as much wit & style as in Wednesday, but if you're interested in the concept of a high school for monsters, it's worth a look.
4. One of Us Is Lying
Based on a novel by Karen M. McManus, the TV show “One of Us Is Lying” is a murder mystery in which four of five teens who go to detention end up dead. As the police figure out who is lying and what happened to the fifth victim, the mystery begins to make sense.
In addition to a few additional supporting characters, the film stars Mark McKenna, Annalisa Cochrane, Chibuikem Uche, Marianly Tejada & Cooper van Grootel. Both “Wednesday” and “One of Us Is Lying” center on high school students and their experiences there. Moreover, the programs have similar narrative arcs that center on mystery & the thrill of murder.
3. The Umbrella Academy
According to the plot summary on IMDB, a group of grown-up childhood heroes must get back together in order to keep saving the planet. Seeing the dynamic of a family in which multiple members possess unique abilities is fascinating. The characters' witty back-and-forth keeps things lively, and they bond over their shared experience.
2. Penny Dreadful
Several of literature's most terrible characters, such as Victor Frankenstein (Harry Treadaway) and Dorian Gray (Reeve Carney), are woven into this adult horror drama. The first episode takes place in 1891 in Victorian England, where a mother and daughter are kidnapped and later found disfigured. To help find a missing woman, Sir Malcolm Murray (Timothy Dalton) hires Ethan Chandler (Josh Hartnett), who assembles a team of professionals to infiltrate a vampire colony.
This show, like Wednesday, has its foundations in a bigger narrative arc, and its examination of classic villains reveals insights into the varied roles women can play in the horror genre.
