She-Hulk (Jennifer Walters) is a fictional character who appears in Marvel Comics' American comic books.
She debuted in The Savage She-Hulk #1, created by writer Stan Lee and artist John Buscema (cover-dated February 1980). After an injury, Walters received an emergency blood transfusion from her cousin, Bruce Banner, and developed a milder version of his Hulk condition.
As a result, Walters transforms into a large, powerful, green-hued version of herself. Unlike Banner, she retains much of her personality, including the majority of her intelligence and emotional control.
She, like Hulk, is vulnerable to outbursts of rage and grows much stronger when enraged. Her transformation is permanent in later series, and she frequently breaks the fourth wall for comedic effect and running gags.
