Last month, a woman from Charlotte, North Carolina, who was 25 years old, died while on a trip with friends to Mexico. After a video showed her being beaten, her family is demanding justice and the truth about how she died.
Shanquella Robinson, who had a popular hair braiding business and an online store, was found dead in her hotel room on October 29. She was in San José del Cabo with friends.
Local authorities said Wednesday that they are still looking into how she died. BuzzFeed News got confirmation from the FBI in Charlotte that they have talked to Robinson's family and are aware of the video going around online.
Shanquella Robinson's Death is Being Looked Into by the FBI
This week, officials in North Carolina and the FBI said they are looking into the death of Shanquella Robinson, a 25-year-old woman who died mysteriously while on a trip with her friends to Mexico.
Robinson's family has been trying to find out what happened to her since she was found dead in Cabo less than 24 hours after she got there last month. The FBI's Charlotte office said that they were looking into the situation.
On Saturday, Robinson's Funeral Was Held in North Carolina
Reports say that Robinson's funeral was held in Charlotte on Saturday and that hundreds of people came to pay their respects. WSOC-TV says that no one has been charged in relation to this event.

Robinson's mother, Salamondra Robinson, informed news reporters that her daughter's friends first claimed she died of alcohol poisoning.
“On Friday evening, Robinson's mother told WBTV, “She was having supper, and I never communicated with her again.” “They called on Saturday evening and said she wasn't feeling well and that they were going to contact a doctor.” And when they called, the doctor hadn't yet come, but they stated she was suffering from alcohol poisoning.”
However, Shanquella Robinson died as a result of a serious spinal cord injury and atlas luxation, according to the death certificate.
“She wasn't feeling well, they claimed. Her mother told WJZY that she suffered from alcohol poisoning. “They were unable to obtain a pulse. Everyone who was there with her was telling her a different story.”

Prosecutors in Baja California Sur said on Wednesday that they are continuing to collect evidence and investigate the circumstances surrounding the death at the beach club property.
