Shadow and Bone, a Netflix fantasy series based on the novels of best-selling author Leigh Bardugo, launched on April 23, 2021, and quickly became a rating smash. Season 1 of Eric Heisserer's show had eight episodes, and Season 2 was renewed for another eight.
Bardugo's stories collectively referred to as the Grishaverse, are set in a world inspired by early 19th-century Tsarist Russia and populated by around half Grisha, or people with exceptional talents to manipulate the elements in various ways for the sake of fighting, healing, or creating.
A little orphan girl and her best friend are the story's protagonists. Both she and her husband end up serving in the regular army, she as a mapmaker and he as a tracker, and she will do anything to keep him by her side, including venturing into the Shadow Fold, a vast area of darkness that cuts the kingdom in two.
Entering the Shadow Fold puts one in danger of being killed by terrifying monsters, and it seems that only the Grisha known as the Sun Summoner can destroy it. Here's everything we know about Shadow and Bone Season 2 on Netflix, including returning cast, new characters, filming dates, and more, to satisfy the insatiable curiosity of the show's legion of devoted viewers.
