Scrooge: A Christmas Carol begins with Harry, several children & the town singing “Tis the Season to be Jolly” on Christmas Eve. Harry's uncle Scrooge is a Christmas-hating miser. The elderly man insults everyone, including his dog. Scrooge refuses to dine with Harry & his family because he hates Christmas.
Why they no longer enjoy the celebration is understandable. His ultimate attempt at closure involves accepting his history in the Netflix film. Scrooge can learn from his history while horrific events happen. The Grinch, who hates Christmas, has inspired countless movies. Movies come out every few years.
Thus, the thought isn't surprising. Tell Scrooge's story now. Film quality? Nope. Watching Christmas movies at home relaxes. The Netflix film starts well, but as we learn about the protagonist's backstory, it becomes unclear. A complex story loses our attention. Songs increase story suspense. However, not all were successful. Scrooge's Christmas Carol has a few heartwarming moments.
Except for his youth & Cratchit's connection, the film isn't fantastic. Luke Evans captured Scrooge's agony & frustration well. Olivia Colman & Johnny Flynn voice the story's most important characters. The animated Christmas scenes illuminate the display.
