Will These Be Santa Clause 4?

The holidays are upon us once more, which means many people will be watching The Santa Clause, a renowned family-friendly yuletide series. Tim Allen's three Christmas movies each bring something new to the table, providing a terrific way to get into the holiday mood, and many fans are naturally interested if The Santa Clause 4 will be made. With “The Santa Clause” in 1994, Tim Allen delivered '90s youngsters one of the decade's most iconic views on Saint Nick.

The film starred Allen as an ordinary person who inherits Santa's responsibilities after the actual Santa dies, and it was a great smash, setting the way for a full trilogy of Christmas films. However, we haven't seen the former “Home Improvement” actor in red with his reindeer in 15 years.

A Snapshot of Santa Clause 3

Scott Calvin married Carol Newman, who is now a teacher in the North Pole, twelve years ago when he assumed the role of Santa Claus. She tells a group of young elves a story about her life with Scott while expecting their first kid on Christmas Eve. Scott brings his in-laws, Sylvia and Bud Newman, as well as Scott's ex-wife Laura, her husband Neil, their daughter Lucy, and his son Charlie, to the North Pole.

Meanwhile, he is summoned to a meeting of the Council of Legendary Figures, which includes Mother Nature, Father Time, the Easter Bunny, Cupid, the Tooth Fairy, and the Sandman, to discuss Jack Frost's conduct, who is envious of his lack of a holiday or special occasion.

Mother Nature advises sanctions against him because he has been advertising himself over the Christmas season. Scott agrees to a minor term of community service at the North Pole, helping Scott and the elves set up different Canadian-themed stuff, since Carol's parents believe Scott is a toy-maker in Canada, while he tries to entice the in-laws to attend without admitting that he is Santa.

Frost's ultimate purpose, though, is to deceive Santa into relinquishing his position. When Curtis, the Head Elf, mistakenly discloses the “Escape Clause,” Frost goes into The Hall of Snow Globes and snatches Scott's one, which features Scott dressed as Santa. Scott can travel back in time and reverse his job as Santa if he clutches the globe and says, “I wish I'd never been Santa at all.” Frost freezes Lucy's parents and puts her in a closet when she learns this. He then creates scenarios that lead Scott to believe he needs to quit in order to make things better.

In 1994, when Scott forced the first Santa to fall off his roof and had to replace him, Frost tricked Scott into invoking the Escape Clause, and both are dispatched to Scott's front yard. Frost knocks the original Santa off the roof and takes his coat before Scott can reach him. Scott is transported to an alternate 2006, where he has been the CEO of his previous firm for the past twelve years and family comes second. Laura and Neil separated, and Carol moved away years ago, according to Scott.

Santa Clause 4

There don't appear to be any current plans to create The Santa Clause 4 at this time. The last film's results revealed some major franchise weariness, implying that there wasn't much left in the tank when it comes to keeping the tale moving.

The original film had a budget of roughly $22 million, while The Santa Clause 2 had a budget of $65 million thanks to its success. The first film grossed $190 million, with the sequel grossing $172.9 million. The third instalment in the Yuletide film series had the lowest expenditure of $12 million and the lowest return of $110 million.

Some may say that The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause was an excellent way to end the franchise, while others may disagree. The birth of Buddy Claus, Santa's son, in the last minutes opened the door for a fresh series of stories displaying the next in line to become the next jolly old Saint Nick in The Santa Clause 4 if that ever happens.

If Disney decides to develop a fourth instalment of The Santa Clause, it's reasonable to assume that no release date will be set anytime soon. This might change at any time, and when The Santa Clause 4 will be released is anyone's guess.

Wrapping Up

A theatrical release would be ideal, but a position on Disney+ appears to be more likely. Those wishing for more from the noel-centric franchise would agree that getting The Santa Clause 4 will suffice, whether it's a completely new film, a Christmas special, or an original series. There's no way of knowing if Tim Allen will return if The Santa Clause 4 is made. He has a lengthy history with Disney owing to his role as Buzz Lightyear, and his dedication to a brand is well-known because to his roles on Home Improvement and Last Man Standing.
