Sandwalkers - Everything We Know So Far

When a climatic crisis occurs, what would the landscape of a fantasy planet filled with anthropomorphic creatures look like? Perhaps something along the lines of Sandwalkers, a roguelike about attempting to rehabilitate a desert world after a weather disaster renders the majority of it unusable, would be appropriate.

Sandwalkers, which was unveiled today at Gamescom's Awesome Indies exhibit, puts you in the shoes of the Mka tribe, a clan that sends a fresh caravan of adventurers into the meteorological disaster outside of their home city every decade in the hopes of finding a new safe refuge somewhere on the world.

Sandwalkers, a roguelike turn-based exploration game for the Nintendo Switch and PC, has been revealed by Goblinz Publishing and developer Goblinz Studio (Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG).

What is Sandwalkers About?

The Steam Page's description of Sandwalkers is as follows:

Every decade, the Mka tribe sends caravans of adventurers into the Phithi, the meteorological chaos that keeps the Uwando tribes isolated from each other and makes life outside the refuges almost impossible.

Their mission: to establish diplomatic and trade relations, to explore and reclaim the lands left to the mercy of monsters and pirates, and, most importantly, to plant a new tree city that can become a refuge for the Mka and their allies. Regardless of the success or failure of their mission, the caravans must send the memories they have gained back to the capital, using the crystospheres carried by traveling beetles.
