In the Japanese drama series Sanctuary, the protagonist, Kiyoshi Oze, is a criminal who, for the sake of wealth and notoriety, decides to become a professional sumo wrestler under the ring name Enno. The series was adapted from Simon K. Berg and Fredrik Agetoft's Swedish web series of the same name.
In May of 2023, Sanctuary Season 1 debuted on Netflix to rave reviews from both critics and viewers. Wataru Ichinose's performance as Kiyoshi earned the show high marks, as did the rest of the cast's commitment to the role. The show also provided an unusual look into the ancient Japanese sport of sumo, which has been played for over a millennium.

Sanctuary Season 2 Release Date
The second season of Sanctuary has not yet been given a specific release date by Netflix; however, we can anticipate that it will arrive sometime in the year 2024. There were a total of eight episodes in the first season, and each one ran for approximately 30 to 65 minutes. It is reasonable to assume that the production schedule and format for the second season will be the same as the first.
Sanctuary Season 2 Plot
The second season of Sanctuary will continue to investigate the events leading up to and following Kiyoshi's rise to prominence in the world of sumo as Enno, a wrestler who captivates fans with his cocky attitude and upsets an industry that is steeped in tradition.
As he is scouted by the master of the Ensh stable for his talent and physique, and as he climbs the ranks only for the money with no interest in sumo, he becomes the target of criticism from the sumo executives for his over-the-top personality, as well as his lack of respect for the traditions of the sport. In addition, he has no interest in sumo.
The second season will also delve deeper into Kiyoshi's personal life, including the relationship he has with his family, his friends, and the person he is interested in romantically. In addition, the second season will introduce new characters and challenges for Kiyoshi to face, such as antagonistic wrestlers, corrupt officials, and threatening foes.

Rating And Reviews Of Sanctuary
Because the plot was so intriguing, I sat down and watched the entire series in one sitting with the English dub. On the other hand, I can't wait to see it again in its original language so that I can better understand the subtleties of feeling that are so often lost in translation.
If you are someone who is enthralled by foreign shows, particularly Japanese ones, it is absolutely necessary to watch them in both the English translation and the original language in order to fully appreciate the artistry and culture that went into producing the show.
