Akao thinks they have to do it, so he sits on the wheelchair; Nagumo then tosses the grenade behind the chair, speeding it up. This allows her to close the distance to the assassin, but it doesn't help her win the fight because the assassin may easily avoid her strike.
While the killer is perplexed as to what's going on, Akao calmly explains in his internal monologue that whatever it is, it's had him for a while. Sakamoto suddenly materializes on the scene, bringing the assassin with him as he asks Akao if the air quality is poor in the sky.
