She is known to have made her debut for Playboy magazine, but the spread was canceled because her photos did not meet the publication's standards.
Her photographs were used as a stand-alone feature in the magazine 1973 a year later. In the same year, she made her professional modeling debut in “Make-up for Minority Women.”
Along with this, she was a spokesperson for the National American Indian Council, protesting President Nixon's budget cuts for Indian programs.

Littlefeathers' interest in exploring her Native American identity grew as she pursued her education in dramatics and speech.
