Reservation Dogs Season 2: Release Date, Cast, Plot and Many More!

In the world of cinema, Taika Waititi's name is frequently spoken, and with good reason: he's swiftly rising to prominence as a top director with a string of critically and commercially successful films under his belt.

For example, he co-created with Sterlin Harjo the FX comedy series “Reservation Dogs,” which has just been renewed for a second season.

‘Reservation Dogs' tells the story of four Native American teenagers who live on a reservation in rural Oklahoma and call themselves the Rez Dogs: Elora Danan Postoak, Bear Smallhill, Cheese, and Willie Jack.

The Rez Dogs do everything it takes to gather money for a cross-country transfer, and they get into a fair amount of mischief along the way.

Season 1 of “Reservation Dogs” ends with the youngsters having learned a great deal about life and themselves, but there are still many unanswered issues for season 2. Check out our latest scoop on “Reservation Dogs,” which is set to return in the fall of 2019.

Who Will Return for a Second Season of Reservation Dogs?

Elora, Beer, Cheese, and Willie Jack are likely to return for Season 2, however, the cast has yet to be officially announced.

Bear's mother Rita (played by Sarah Podemski), Officer Big (Zahn McClarnon), Mose (Lil Mike), Mekko (Funny Bone), and William “Spirit” Knifeman (as Funny Bone) are all expected to return (Dallas Goldtooth). One of the first shows to have an Indigenous team of writers, directors, and producers, as well as an Indigenous cast, is “Reservation Dogs,” which is shattering records in the industry (per Salon).

To locate actors who could really depict people of Indigenous American heritage, Harjo recounted how the initial casting procedure was carried out.

To discover the actors, he says, you have to go into these neighborhoods.

Reservation Dogs' accomplished nothing more than that. Casting took place all over the place. We gathered recordings from indigenous communities around the country.

There's no doubt about it: talent exists. It's not on Hollywood Boulevard, for whatever reason.

Reservation Dogs Season 2 Plot

Reservation Dogs Season 2

At the end of Season 1, Elora, Beer, Cheese, and Willie Jack find themselves at a fork in the path. When Willie Jack says she doesn't want to go to California after all, the other members of the group, particularly Elora and Bear, disagree.

Elora and Jackie (Elva Guerra), the head of their rival gang, decide to relocate to California instead, causing the Rez Dogs to become further divided in Season 2.

Bear's estranged father, Punkin Lusty (Sten Joddi), may potentially make an appearance. In an interview with TVLine, Woon-A-Tai revealed his thoughts on his character possibly hearing from his father in the future season: “I'm confident we will if I'm accurate. Is Punkin likely to pay a visit to Oklahoma? No, I don't think so.

If the Reservation Dogs fly to California, I'm not sure if Bear will want to see his father.  What is Punkin's fate in the future? That is something I can well comprehend. To be honest, I'm not sure what the authors will come up with!” However, it is unknown if Jodi would return to the project in the future.

Reservation Dogs Season 2

“Reservation Dogs” was renewed for a second season in early September and will air sometime in 2022, according to the show's renewal schedule.

Taika Waititi initially revealed the new show in 2019 when he tweeted about it, and the first season will air in August of 2021, according to the official release date.

However, we still have a few months before Season 2, although we wouldn't be shocked if it premiered as early as next summer at the earliest.

An early order for the next season pleases us. With the help of Taika Waititi, and the outstanding cast and crew, Sterlin Harjo produced one of television's best new comedies and a breakthrough exhibition of representation and raw talent.”
