Sadly, the life of the American actress Raquel Welch, who became a sex symbol for portraying strong female roles in the 1960s, has come to an end. She had reached the ripe old age of 82. What happened? Here's what we know about Raquel Welch cause of death.
Who Was Raquel Welch?
Originally from Chicago, American actress Raquel Welch (née Tejada) was born there on September 5, 1960. Bandolero!, The Three Musketeers and One Million Years BC catapulted Raquel to stardom in the 1960s.
Her fame carried over into the next decade, and she became a sex icon around the world. Raquel, speaking to The Sunday Post about her sudden fame, said, “Overnight, I found myself in demand.” Before that, I preferred to keep a low profile.
I had progressed from playing bit parts to starring in my own film. Due to the amazing effects, Fantastic Voyage was released after One Million Years BC, therefore I was the dinosaur lady first and the science lady second.
Many people wonder if I ever get tired of discussing my bikini, but the truth is that I never do. The impact of both on my professional life was substantial. Theretofore, I had been little more than a background player.
Raquel continued, “I've made quite a few movies, TV series, and theatre plays, and I think people recognized that I was not simply there to look pretty on a movie poster. I, too, have acting chops.
Raquel has a long list of acting achievements, but she freely admits that her breakthrough performance in One Million Years BC is what her admirers remember her for. It goes without saying that I have wonderful recollections and a few keepsakes.
People sometimes inquire if I kept the bikini from that vacation; however, I only bought a total of six, and they are all presumably stored away in a warehouse. I doubt I'll ever wear it again, but you never know maybe the script for Two Million Years BC will magically appear at my doorstep.
If so, I'm hoping it features even more conversation than the original. Her most recent film appearance was in the 2017 comedy How to Be a Latin Lover, which also starred Kristen Bell and Salma Hayek.

A large number of people took to social media to remember the Fantastic Voyage star.
‘We've lost an incredible legend,' someone sobbed.
“The part of Myra Breckinridge will always stand out to me, but Raquel Welch will be remembered for many others. #RIP.” The second author claimed that Raquel “did not merely represent a nice face. She was sweet and hilarious, as another fan put it; “We were privileged to have her; she was a [goddamn] delight.”
In Fantastic Voyage, Raquel first came to prominence in the character of Cora Peterson, Dr. Duval's technical assistant. After that, she was offered a contract with 20th Century Fox and went on to star in movies including Fathom, Bedazzled, Bandolero!, Lady in Cement, 100 Rifles, and Myra Breckinridge.
Raquel's contract was licensed by 20th Century Fox to the British studio Hammer Picture Productions so that she could play Loana in the 1966 adventure fantasy film One Million Years B.C. Although she didn't speak much, posters featuring her in a fur bikini were an instant hit and propelled her to international sex icon notoriety.
