Early Life

Randy Orton net worth

Originally named Randal Orton, Randy was born in Knoxville, Tennessee, on April 1, 1980. Wrestling star Bob Orton Jr. was his father, while his mother Elaine worked as a nurse. Wrestling meant Randy would be away from his family most of the time and always on the road. Regardless, Orton was an amateur wrestler while attending Hazelwood Central High School.

Randy enlisted in the Marines after graduating high school in 1998 and twice went missing or disregarded orders from his commanding commander. As a result, he was fired as a result of his activities in 1999.

Wrestling Career

Orton made his professional wrestling debut in 2001, competing in the Mid-Missouri Wrestling Association-Southern Illinois Conference Wrestling. The WWE, at the time known as the World Wrestling Federation, negotiated a deal with him a year later and he was transferred to Louisville, Kentucky for more training.

The OVW Hardcore Championship was won by Orton twice while wrestling in the Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW) promotion, first against Mr. Black on February 14, 2001, and then against Flash Flanagan on May 5, 2001.

Beginning in May of 2001, he began participating in several WWF house shows and ultimately became a regular contender. Chuck Palumbo, Shawn Stasiak, and Steven Richards were among the other wrestlers he fought in tag team battles.

WrestleMania X8’s Fan Axxess saw Randy make his maiden WWF appearance on March 16, 2002, when he was defeated by Tommy Dreamer. On April 25, 2002, he faced Hardcore Holly on national television for the first time, and he won. Orton had been a fan favorite by this stage.

Orton was sidelined for many months following his Raw Brand debut due to a shoulder ailment. The “Randy News Network,” which ran in-between other Raw segments while he was recovering, featured him as he was on the mend. As a result, his character in the WWE narrative evolved into an egotistical villain.

“The Legend Killer” was the gimmick Orton used when he recovered from his injuries, in which he pretended to be an up-and-coming wrestler taking on the world. He often began feuds with established wrestlers by making disparaging remarks about them. This would put him in a highly publicized bout with Shawn Michaels.

When Orton was in his twenties, he developed his signature move, the “RKO,” which is a leaping cutter technique and is called after his initials.
