Akshay Kumar's Ram Setu Will Be in Theaters Producer Denies Ott Rumors

Akshay Kumar's upcoming film Ram Setu will reportedly be released on an OTT platform, not in theaters.

Some publications blamed Akshay's recent films Samrat Prithviraj and Bachchan Pandey. Vikram Malhotra, Ram Setu's producer, denies the rumors. Likewise: Akshay Kumar stated he'll do Housefull and Rowdy Rathore if Samrat Prithviraj fails, claims the director.

Ram Setu is Amazon Studios' first theatrical release in India, and it won't be available on OTT until after its theatrical run.

The production team is planning both interior and outdoor shoots. The team hopes to start filming this month. According to News18, a source said, “Ram Setu's makers have opted to conclude filming in Mumbai.”

Sources say the actor will film underwater scenes. Jacqueline Fernandez and Nushrratt Bharuccha finished filming in Ooty in November and were expected to fly to Sri Lanka to capture underwater scenes and ocean pictures.

Pandemic prevented that. After study and on-location recce, the team has chosen Daman and Diu to film these sequences.

The remaining shots will be completed in Mumbai. Akshay will film underwater sequences with an international crew, says a source.
