While Alien: Covenant made its money back, it was a critical and economic flop, grossing a fraction of what Prometheus did. Scott suggested many sequels before Covenant's release, but given the film's reception, one last installment to finish everything seems like the most likely result.
Scott's return to the “Alien” world after more than 30 years, since the 1979 original Sigourney Weaver starring was “Prometheus.” With “Aliens,” “Alien 3,” and “Alien: Resurrection,” he'd given the torch to James Cameron, David Fincher, and Jean-Pierre Jeunet.

Prometheus 3 Release Date
On June 8, 2012, 20th Century Fox released and distributed Prometheus' first season globally. Due to the film's enormous success and devoted following, the next part was renewed in May 2017 after five years.
We can anticipate the release of Prometheus 3 by the end of 2022, even though the franchise has not yet supplied any information.
Updation: As of March 2023, there is no confirmation of the Prometheus 3 release date.
In an interview with Prometheus and Covenant, Scott stated, “We went down a route to try and remake the wheel. We will unlikely return to that point due to how effectively Prometheus awoke it.
However, you are making basic inquiries like, “Have the Alien himself, the face hugger, and the chest-burster run out of steam?” Do you have to redo everything and say “franchise” instead? Always, that is the central query. Additionally, this increases the likelihood of its arrival.
Nothing, however, can be claimed with certainty. Let's wait for more information from the group!
Let's Take you through Prometheus.
As the fifth movie in the Alien franchise, production on the film began in the early 2000s. Scott and filmmaker James Cameron discussed the possibility of doing a prequel to Scott's 1979 science-fiction horror thriller Alien.
The creation of Alien vs. Predator gained precedence in 2002, and the idea was put on hold until 2009 when Scott expressed renewed interest.
Scott chose a different path to avoid duplicating themes from the Alien films, so Spaihts prepared a narrative for a prequel to the events of the Alien movies.
Late in 2010, Lindelof joined the project to rework Spaihts' script, and he and Scott collaborated on a tale that takes place before Alien but is unrelated to the original series.
Prometheus, according to Scott, explores its mythology and themes despite sharing “strands of Alien's DNA” and taking place in the same cosmos.
Who is in the Cast Crew?
Noomi Rapace played the role of Elizabeth Shaw.
Shaw, an archaeologist, is characterized by Rapace as a devout Christian with strong faith. “Things happen amid the film, and she transforms into a fighter.
She's such a survivor in the end.” She created a comprehensive background for Shaw and worked with a dialect coach to produce a British accent to enhance her method of acting.
Michael Fassbender played the role of David.
David is the ship's butler and maintenance guy, and he is an android. It's made to look like people and starts to acquire “its ego, fears, jealously, and envy.”
Charlize Theron played the role of Meredith Vickers
Vickers is a Weyland Corporation employee assigned to the expedition's surveillance. Theron defined the character as “a suit who gradually sheds skin throughout the film” and “something of a villain who has an agenda.”
“Vickers is realistic, and he badly wants to manage the issue,” she explained.
Instead of being the center of attention, Scott wanted the character to be in the background of situations, watching other people. “You're just so distrustful of her, initially,” Theron remarked, adding that this helped deepen her character.
Idris Elba played the role of Janek.
Janek is Prometheus's captain. With a military background, Elba defined the role as “a longshoreman and a sailor.”
Guy Pearce played the role of Peter Weyland.
Weyland is the founder and CEO of Weyland Corp., which is worth a billion dollars. He was described by Lindelof as having a big ego and a deity complex.
It took five hours to apply the appropriate prosthetics and make-up to change Pearce into the elderly Weyland and another hour to remove it.
Pearce examined older people to acquire insight into their movements for his character since he felt the obstructed physical mobility to be the most challenging aspect of the job.

Interesting Things About Prometheus
Pop Rocks, a popping candy brand, and a parrot were used to create sound effects. The sparkling ice shown on the stone cylinders in the video was made by sprinkling the exploding candy over wet metal and stone, then sprayed with water to provide the “popping, cracking” sound.
The parrot of sound designer Ann Scibelli was recorded over weeks to chronicle her wide range of vocalizations, later used as beeps, sirens, and the screams of Shaw's alien progeny.
Neal Scanlan and Conor O'Sullivan created the extraterrestrial creatures in the film to convey that each species has a rational biological function and purpose.
According to Scanlan, Scott gets a lot of his creature design inspiration from nature, such as flora and marine animals. To contrast the black-toned, Giger-influenced look of Alien, creature designer Carlos Huante sought to make the creature designs pale.
Because the events in the film took place before Giger's influence, Huante imagined them to be white and embryonic. Huante drew inspiration from the pale-skinned Engineers that Scott was designing.
Scott wanted the Engineers to seem like Greek gods, so he told designer Neville Page to take inspiration from the Statue of Liberty, Michelangelo's David, and Elvis Presley.
The 8-foot tall humanoid Engineers were produced by putting bulky, full-body prosthetics on the performers, whose facial features were masked by the material, and then digitally enhancing them to maintain their “godlike” physical perfection.
