Pistol Tv Series Release Date: The English punk music legends Sex Pistols are getting their limited TV series, simply titled Pistol, from Oscar-winning director Danny Boyle.
The series will premiere in May on a variety of broadcasters and streaming services, including Hulu and Disney Plus.
The Sex Pistols have already appeared in television shows and films, most famously in Gary Oldman's portrayal of the band's bassist Sid Vicious in 1986's Sid & Nancy.
The focus of the film, however, was on the main couple's relationship.
The Filth and the Fury, a documentary about the band, was released in 2000.
Pistol, on the other hand, will be based on guitarist Steve Jones' account of the band's voyage.
Everything you need to know about Pistol is right here.
When Will It Be Released?
The premiere of Pistol is slated for May 31. The limited series will be available on Hulu in the United States; while it will be available on Disney Plus in the United Kingdom; Ireland; Canada, Australia; New Zealand; and Singapore.
On May 31, all six episodes of Pistol will be accessible.
What Is the Plot?
The pistol is based on Steve Jones' 2017 biography Lonely Boy: Tales from a Sex Pistol, which describes the band's participation in the 1970s rock & roll revolution.
With songs like “Anarchy in the UK;” “Holiday in the Sun;” “Pretty Vacant;” and “God Save the Queen;” the Sex Pistols created quite a stir when they first came out in the 1970s.
From the perspective of one of the band's members, this series will look at the band's experience and influence.
“Pistol is a six-episode limited series chronicling the birth of rock and roll. The Sex Pistols are fierce; the roaring tempest is at the center of this revolution; Steve Jones; the founding member; and guitarist of the Sex Pistols is at the center of this series. Jones is hysterical.
The film takes us on an emotional and at times heartbreaking trip through three of the most massive; turbulent; and mucus-streaked years in music history.
This is the story of a band of spotty, noisy, working-class adolescents with “no future” who shook the mainstream, based on Jones' biography Lonely Boy: Tales from a Sex Pistol.
The corrupt Establishment threatened to bring down the government and forever transform music and culture.”
Who Is in the Cast?
The historic punk band The Sex Pistols is getting a comeback in the FX Networks series Pistol, saving the monarchy and anyone else afraid of a little anti-establishment punk music.
The Sex Pistols wrote singles like “God Save the Queen” and “Anarchy in the United Kingdom,” and were led by vocalist Johnny Rotten, guitarist Steve Jones, drummer Paul Cook, and bassist Glen Matlock (who would subsequently be replaced by the legendary Sid Vicious).
They were noted for their iconoclastic presence and for being at the forefront of the punk movement worldwide, not only in the UK.
The six-episode series, directed by Academy Award-winner Danny Boyle and based on Steve Jones' biography Lonely Boy: Tales from a Sex Pistol, will premiere on Hulu on May 31st.
Is The Trailer Available?
In early April, a teaser for the series was revealed.
Various shots of the band and affiliates calling for various sorts of revolution are featured.
A drum roll, accompanied by a ring of distortion, grows louder in the background, building up to an intense-looking Johnny Rotten (Anson Boon) repeating the thesis of the short clip “One word: Destroy.”
