‘Pinocchio’ First Look

In the live-action Disney Plus adaptation of the animation classic, America’s father Tom Hanks plays Pinocchio’s father.

Pinocchio 2022 Release Date

“Pinocchio,” which is based on Carlo Collodi’s children’s tale “The Adventures of Pinocchio,” is a remake of the 1940 animated Disney film of the same name.

Hanks plays Geppetto, a childless woodworker in dire need of a son.

A scruffy, white-haired Hanks is shown enjoying a not-yet-animated Pinocchio (voiced in the film by Benjamin Evan Ainsworth) on his workbench in the first look shot.

Pinocchio’s design in the film is a close replica of the character design from the animated picture, replete with a yellow hat with a red feather and a nearly identical face.

“Pinocchio” is directed by Robert Zemeckis and produced by Andrew Milano from a screenplay written by him and Chris Weitz.

This Movie from Disney Plus isn’t the only planned film on the renowned puppet.

“Pinocchio: A True Story,” an animated film starring Pauly Shore, will be released on March 22 by Lionsgate Entertainment.

Netflix is also set to premiere a stop-motion animated Pinocchio feature in December, starring Gregory Mann, Ewan McGregor, and David Bradley, and directed by Guillermo del Toro and Mark Gustafson.

“The Little Mermaid,” which will be released in theatres on May 26, 2023, and “Peter Pan & Wendy,” which, like “Pinocchio,” will be a Disney Plus exclusive, are two more future live-action remakes of Disney animated flicks.

This September, “Pinocchio” will be available exclusively on Disney Plus. Take a peek at the first glance photograph below.

Disney Confirmed the Release Date Of The Upcoming Live-action Movie  ‘Pinocchio’

The first look at Tom Hanks as master of marionettes Geppetto in Disney’s live-action Pinocchio film has been released.

Director Robert Zemeckis’ retelling of the classic tale also stars Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Pinocchio, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Jiminy Cricket, Cynthia Erivo as the Blue Fairy, Keegan-Michael Key as Honest John the fox, Luke Evans as The Coachman, and Lorraine Braco as Sofia the Seagull, and is set to premiere on Disney+ in September.

The only way to go bigger would be to sign Daniel Day-Lewis for Monstro the whale with motion capture.

If you need a refresher, Pinocchio is a dark Disney story about a wooden toy that is magically brought to life.

In his quest to become a “genuine guy,” he comes across scam artists, enslavement, and a massive whale that devours him.

Zemeckis is one of the visual pioneers of his period, with films like The Polar Express, Who Framed Roger Rabbit? and Beowulf under his credit; we can’t wait to see what he does with this one.

Meanwhile, Disney’s live-action Pinocchio isn’t the only Pinocchio film scheduled for release in 2022.

Netflix will release a stop-motion adaptation of Nightmare Alley in December; starring Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan Kenobi; Tim Blake Nelson as Watchmen; Ron Perlman as Hellboy; Christoph Waltz as Django Unchained; Tilda Swinton as The French Dispatch; John Turturro as The Batman; David Bradley as Harry Potter; and Finn Wolfhard as Stranger Things breakout star.

When you make a wish on a star, you’ll get two Pinocchios in four months!
